I've been a patient of Dr. Murak's for almost my entire life and have been going to Southgate Medical since he started practicing there. I've been extremely disappointed in the way this office has been run these past several years and would highly recommend against becoming a patient here. Dr. Murak must be effectively retired because neither I nor any of my family have seen him in years. Instead we're always scheduled with a PA or nurse. This would not be an issue if I felt I had gotten adequate care, which I have not. I have felt rushed and neglected every time I was there. Recently, I was refused an appointment for an ear infection because they claimed it had been too long since my last appointment. Instead I would have to go through the new patient process before I could be seen. Their recommendation for what to do about my ear infection in the short term was to "go to urgent care." This was the last straw. I will be taking my business elsewhere and I suggest you do the same.

I was having chronic diarrhea for 3 weeks due to the antidepressant Zoloft. It was prescribed to me when I was a patient at Brylin. The dose was too high which was the reason and I called Brylin but they told me to call my primary because I was no longer at Brylin. I called Southgate for help because 3 weeks of this was misery. My primary at Southgate wouldn't help me in any way and told me to wait for my May appointment with my new psychiatrist. Not sure if Southgate really cares about their patients but I will be looking for another doctor.
