Since 1997, Dr. Benton has practiced in Troy, NY and Albany, NY. He is the Chief of Cardiology at Samaritan Hospital and is Past President of the Medical Staff. Dr. Benton is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. In addition he is certified in the subspecialties of Nuclear Cardiology and Adult Echocardiography. He has earned the title of Certified Physician Investigator from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. Dr. Benton's cardiology specialties include general cardiovascular disease, hypertension, nuclear cardiology, and echocardiography.

I'm in Dr. Benton's patient for many years. I found him to be a very knowledgeable kind and no nonsense type of Doctor Who would tell things the way they are and what you need to do to get better at the same time injecting sense of humor into dealing, especially with me. I'm sorry to see him retire but absolutely Glad that he deserves some rest and relaxation for all the years of effort he has put in. I wish him well. He took great care of me.

Dr Benton was extraordinary in diagnosing the underlying cause of an afib issue I had. He is intelligent, has a great bed side manner, and is spot on with his instructions and care.
