Patient
As Dr.Guijja was reading my heart test results saying everything was normal, I asked if I could see the results. I have had traumatic experiences with Doctors telling me "everything is fine", then when I ask for a print out of my results and read them, I find multiple concerning diagnosis that they failed to mention. So now I simply ask doctors to show me the results, ask for a print out, and discuss what we see together for better understanding. Anyway his response to me asking if I may see my results was "Do you have an education in Cardiology?". It was passive aggressive, and honestly made me nervous / uncomfortable. Then without showing me the results (paper still in his hand) he moved to the seat next to me and asked "what are you worried about, you're young. You can run a marathon if you wanted to", to which I asked "Why don't you want to show me the results?" After much persistence he silently handed me the paper that revealed 3 leaky heart valves. I found this concerning because in a Cardiology exam I had just less than a month prior, I only had two leaky heart valves and they said it was "mild". But at Dr. Gujja's office they found 3 leaky valves and labeled the severity "Trace" which is less than mild. So the first Cardiologist either misdiagnosed me and didn't properly report my results, or the third valve happened after my last appointment which is a reason for anyone to ask questions and be concerned. When I expressed concern and showed him my prior cardiology results, he said "everybody has that, everybody has trace of leaky heart valves". He kind of scoffed and chuckled while looking through my previous heart exam results, at everything that I asked about in comparison to what was found at his office. It was overall dismissive especially as he opened his office door to let me out while I was still sitting there talking to him. I understand that most Doctors just want people not to worry so they tell us everything is fine, but there is a certain arrogance some Doctors have when a patient doesn't just take their word for it, and want to see their results, ask questions regarding their health, and discuss further. These types of Doctors trigger a wariness in patients such as myself who can't be pacified with the "You're young, you're fine". If a Doctor isn't comfortable sharing results after saying that, it's a major red flag because you JUST said everything was fine, so why the hesitation to show me? I won't be using this cardiologist moving forward. The front desk staff and assisting staff were pleasant.
