I would never advise his watchman procedure to anyone. It was not explained fully to us until after the fact and problems started happening. After two strokes with the watchman in place we were told your in the 1.3% of having issues. Never told it couldn't come out. Prior to this procedure my husband was working, driving and enjoying life. After, he can't drive and lost his job which was a something he enjoyed. Besides destroying his life, it has also destroyed mine. Just came from a visit with the dr and was told he could have another stroke which wasn't explained. I asked if the watchman had the skin around it to reduce the clots from getting around it and his answer was....We really can't tell. There is now way of knowing but if he has a stroke we know it isn't. So in six months he will be off Plavix and on a baby aspirin. I then said to the dr so it's aspirin and a pray and he said exactly. Pure disgrace how misinformed we were as we would have never done this procedure. He was better and happier on Eliquis. THINK TWICE ABOUT DOING THIS PROCEDURE...THEY DON'T HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS AND ITS TOO LATE....
