I really like Dr. Jordan Blackwood. However, I am unhappy with the office - if you need to reach a person, or need something in a hurry, this is not the place to go. Better to go to a practice that treats you with respect. I was in the GFH ER yesterday because I had an adverse reaction to sedation for a dental procedure. The ER doc (who was excellent) had me discharged with a note to "arrange prompt follow-up" with Dr. Blackwood, who has been my cardiologist for the last 2 years. I called yesterday mid-afternoon but couldn't get through so left a message explaining that I had been to the ER and the ER doc said I should have prompt follow-up. No one called me this morning so I called them. I waited on their telephone wait line for 15 minutes but no one picked up the call so I left another message. I then looked for other ways to reach them but there is no contact info for them on their web page other than the phone number and a fax number. So I went into AlbanyMed/GFH MyChart hoping to find contact info. There was no information on individual doctors or practices so I clicked on the link for AlbanyMed network but the link was broken. I then called Cambridge Family Health Center and a nice woman at the front desk said she'd try to reach them; she did, and nurse Ashley L. of Dr. Blackwood's office called me, and followed up with Dr. Blackwood. She was very helpful. But despite liking Dr. Blackwood and nurse Ashley L., I have to give this practice the lowest grade.

I was referred to Dr. Blackwood. I had recently suffered a pulmonary Embolism and my pulmonary doctor wanted a heart doctor to check me out. This turned out to be a complete waste of time. I feel I was treated like I was an inconvenience. He dismissed all my concerns. This ended up causing a five year delay in my care where my pulmonary doctor kept sending me to different specialists. When I finally got the right specialist my issues were diagnosed in less than a week! A simple bubble test showed what had been wrong with me for the last 5 years! Dr. Blackwood either didn't want to or didn't care to do this test to find my issue! If you need a cardiologist, I wouldn't recommend Adirondack cardiology to anyone. Go south, the doctors are better and seem to care more.

Been with ADK Cardiology since 2006. While I have no complaints about my cardiologist, the "business" itself keeps getting worse. No one picks up the phone. I've called twice (as has my pharmacy) to get a refill of Plavix. No response at all!! I have been without this script for 2 days now. Not the first time recedntly that this has happened. Very disappointed and discouraged. Also got no notice of my annual appointment. Waited more than a month for the usual letter to arrive; nothing. Had to call them!

So, were not off to a great start being a new patient. I have heard others complain about this group, especially the front office. Falling through the cracks, seems I might be too. A month ago I needed to make a 3 month follow up at the time of my out of hospital visit. I could not do it at that time because a new system was being implemented AND the 2025 schedule was not yet out, she asked me to call in a few weeks. I call 2 weeks ago for my 3 month follow up, nope, can't. Schedule is not yet out, I call again today, schedule not yet out. The lady I spoke with today, did NOT want to give me her name, after 3 attempts, she finally did. She tells me there is a recall system in place for the new system still being implemented, and the 2025 schedule still not available. GRRR. I need 3 months with an ECHO and lab work prior. Am I going to fall through that crack like so many others have? Am I going to Plattsburgh like others have? "Here with you, Here for you" is the motto right? I'm not feeling it!!

My Dad is almost 83 and lives in the Mountains. He relies on the town to provide him rides. His ride was late so he was going to be 40 minutes late and they refused to see him. No human compassion or understanding.
