I saw my GP in early November 2024 and weighed in at 246lbs. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos and put on thyroid meds. A month later I saw Dr Smyrlis as a precaution and weighed in at 240lbs. Dr Smyrlis said u really needed to lose weight. An easy thing to say but what made Dr Smyrlis a hero to me, was that he layed out a plan for me to follow. He didn't sugar coat it and said it would be hard but if I followed the plan, I could lose the weight. That was December 13,2024.
Today on August 24,2025, I weighed in at 191.5 and feel really good for a 63 year old out of shape man. Outside of my scheduled visits, Dr Smyrlis and I keep in touch anti make sure I'm feeling good.
I can't thank him enough for saving my life.
I am now in remission for the Hashimotos, I'm off the thyroid meds as well as the high blood pressure meds I was on.
I'm happy and Healthy due to Dr Smyrlis and his kindness, knowledge and compassion.

I can't say enough kind words to about Dr. Smyrlis, because of him my daughter still has a father and I still have a husband. I first spoke with him on the phone moments after he saved him and he put my mind at ease that the worst part was past us. For the next two days he was there checking on him.
