Nassau Chest Physicians PC

I am always amazed when I read reviews because I find it so hard to believe that some of the ones are writing about the same place that I am. Nassau Chest has always been a pleasure to go to, if going to any doctor appointments at my age can be considered pleasurable. The staff when you enter, while you are there, and on your way out are friendly, knowledgeable and very willing to help. I see NP Jaclyn Thoresz as a followup to my stay at St. Francis Hosp., , now I am continuing as a separate issue had occurred and I'm comfortable with her and never feel rushed . She explains everything and her interest and concerns are genuine. I could have searched for another a lot closer to where I live, but I'd rather stick with a good service and travel, then a bad one around the block. Oh and though I forgot his name, the gentleman who gave me the breathing test on my last visit was very kind, understanding, thorough and answered any questions I had.

Was referred to Dr. Waxner from my primary care, upon entry of the office the front desk girls made me feel so welcome. The clinical staff was so nice as well, very helpful, and returned my calls in a reasonable amount of time. 10/10 would recommend!

I see Dr. Wolf. I have no problem with the doctors. The office staff is horrible. Never in all my 50 years have I ever dealt with staff that is completely rude and hostile towards patients. I have had more than one issue with the staff. They don't want to help. They don't properly prepare for any patient. They claim you need referrals when you don't and are nasty about it. They charge you for co pays almost year after a service (all for a test that I did not need, ask for, or was told was not covered under my original co pay.) They only have one person in the whole practice that does pre-authorizations, so when that person goes on vacation you have to wait a week for them to return, then another week for them to catch up on the work they missed. I've never heard of any practice doing that to its patients. When you have a question they act as though that is not their job. I dread calling for anything from them. If the doctor sends you for a CT or MRI you would think that the office would send the script to the Radiologist. No, you have to make a phone call to the office. When the original request comes from the office. It's insane. I can not wait until this CT scan is done and I can switch practices. If you are going for CT scans, it probably means you may have something very wrong. A bit of patience and kindness would be very helpful to people possibly afraid of results.

Dr. Shector is suppose to be my doctor but have to wait weeks to get an appt with him which I'm glad bc I have nurse practitioner Joan to my rescue. She's terrific! Caring and kind with always a warm welcome!
