In the past communication to my pharmacy to extend refills of prescriptions has been less than optimal and I do miss dr J Cruz.
Overall I am happy to come here; the physical space is also nicely done up.

This place is a breath of fresh air! I was seen right on time and Dr. Katherine Kaminski was amazing! She was caring, took her time to ask questions, explained things clearly, and did blood work with efficiency. The front staff were accommodating and friendly. I was able to book a follow-up appointment with ease. 5 stars from me!

Absolutely the worst billing experience of my life - incompetent, dishonest, and infuriating.
I went to Avicenna Cardiology on June 10, 2025 for a routine annual wellness visit that is 100% covered by my insurance with $0 cost to me. Instead of billing it correctly, their office:
1. First submitted it with the wrong diagnostic code ("regular screening" instead of preventive/annual wellness). Insurance denied ~$1,300. After weeks of calls, they finally corrected it and I owed $0 for the visit itself... but they still forced me to pay $200 for a simple follow-up phone call that should have been included.
2. Two months later I get a $1,544 bill from Quest Diagnostics for the routine blood work that was drawn during that same annual visit. I have never, in 3+ years of annual exams, paid a penny for preventive blood work. Two years ago I went to the exact same Quest lab for my annual and it was fully covered.
After an entire morning on the phone with my insurance and Quest, we discovered Avicenna Cardiology had submitted the lab order with the diagnostic code for "newborn health check under 6 months old." Yes, you read that right - a cardiology office coded a 25-something-year-old adult's annual labs as newborn care. Unbelievable incompetence.
Avicenna promised they would correct the code and put the Quest bill on hold. They never sent me any confirmation, never followed up, and today - Thanksgiving morning, November 27, 2025 - I received the exact same $1,544 bill again. Almost six months later and absolutely nothing was done.
This is now the second time in one single "free" annual visit that Avicenna Cardiology has submitted completely wrong codes, caused massive bills, and wasted dozens of hours of my time. Their billing department is either grossly incompetent or deliberately fraudulent.
I will not pay a cent for their mistakes. If this isn't resolved soon, I will be escalating to my insurance company's fraud department and my attorney.
Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. The stress and rage this practice has caused is not worth any doctor's medical expertise. Zero stars would be too generous.
