Patient
I moved up to Albany and I was looking for a new doctor. the gastro landscape is quite different than the other states I have lived in. I was referred to, and subsequently, after a 6 month wait, I was able to see Dr. Arbind Kumar, which I proceeded to provide my history and explained that I was diagnosed with UC and Crohns (full digestive track) several years back, and had been under treatment and successfully managing the disease. He was dismissive of my medical history, though after reading my previous file I brought from my previous doctor's, He ordered a lower gi and not an upper (which he said the previous diagnosis was probably wrong and unnecessary). Fine, I got the initial scan and after following up 2 weeks later, his office was able to schedule me for an appt 3 weeks later. At this point, after all of the posturing and delays, I have been without treatment for almost 6 months in total and I was feeling it. I got into the appointment, and the doctor looked at me and flatly said that I did not have any evidence of Crohn's are you see in my system. he made this observation without looking at any of the of the test results or information found within the file, and when I asked to see the results he failed to provide me a copy of them and after multiple attempts still refuse to provide a copy of the results. enough said I felt this was quite skeptical and his dismissive behavior is not only dangerous it is bordering on malpractice.
