Unprofessional Experience with NYU Neurology Office - Urgent Attention Needed Dear NYU Neurology Team, I'm writing to formally express my deep frustration with the handling of a recent appointment I scheduled online with one of your neurologists. I followed NYU's recommendation to book online due to the long wait times for appointments. As soon as an earlier slot became available, I secured it. Shortly afterward, Erik Darmstadt, a staff member, cancelled my appointment claiming I did not meet the required symptoms. However, the doctor's profile clearly lists head, neck, and back conditions as ones they treat -- all of which apply to me. When I called to clarify, Mr. Darmstadt told me he assumed it was something she wouldn't treat so I would cancel and acted on that assumption. He admitted his mistake but appointment was already given to someone else. This shows a serious lack of professionalism and accountability. I now have to wait until November for care I urgently need. I am extremely disappointed with how this was handled and the lack of responsibility taken for the error. I respectfully request that this issue be escalated and that I be contacted with a resolution -- ideally with an earlier appointment restored. Patients should not suffer delays because of staff misjudgments.
