This has been one of the most unprofessional and frustrating experiences I've ever had with a medical office. Every time I schedule an appointment, they promise I will be seeing the cardiologist--but after waiting up to 5 hours, only a nurse practitioner shows up. This has happened multiple times. It feels deceptive, like they're intentionally misleading patients. When I finally spoke up and asked why I never get to see the actual cardiologist, instead of showing any understanding or concern, the doctor herself responded with unbelievable rudeness. She said, "I can discharge you, but this is how I run my business," and then told me she "won't be comfortable giving me care anymore" and gave me a 30-day notice to discharge me from the practice--just for standing up for myself. That is not only unprofessional but completely unethical. And the front desk? Rude, cold, and unapproachable. They never introduce themselves, don't wear name tags, and they barely speak to you except to say "have a seat." After that, they disappear. They leave patients waiting for hours with zero updates, zero empathy, and no accountability. It feels like they care more about managing their system (like "Matrix") than actually helping sick and concerned patients. After being hospitalized, I expected to receive proper follow-up care and to be seen by a doctor, not pushed around by front desk staff and dismissed by someone who clearly sees patients as a burden rather than human beings. There's absolutely no compassion here--just arrogance and poor communication. If you value your health and want to be treated with respect, avoid this office at all costs. You deserve better. This was one of the worst medical experiences I've ever had. I had to wait over 6 hours to be seen, and the front desk staff was extremely rude and unhelpful the entire time. When I finally saw the doctor, I was shocked by her attitude. I told her I was having chest pain, and instead of taking it seriously, she insulted me and said, "Stop being dramatic." This is not only unprofessional, but completely unacceptable -- especially from a cardiologist who should understand how serious chest pain can be. She was ignorant, dismissive, and lacked any compassion. I left feeling worse than when I arrived, and completely unheard. I would never return to this office and strongly urge others to avoid it if they want to be treated with respect and care

While I really like Dr. Amita Walia and trust her as a cardiologist, the overall experience with this office has been extremely disappointing. After being hospitalized, I was told to follow up with the cardiologist -- not a nurse practitioner. I made that clear when scheduling, yet every time, I'm seen by a nurse practitioner with no explanation or respect for what was actually needed. The front desk staff only makes things worse. They're rude, dismissive, and barely communicate. They often say nothing but "have a seat" and walk away, leaving you completely in the dark, wondering what's going on or how long you'll be waiting. There's zero professionalism or patient care in how they handle people. It feels like patients are treated as an inconvenience rather than as human beings needing care. Dr. Walia herself is great, but the office staff and the way this place is run make the experience frustrating and stressful. I expected better -- especially after a hospital stay

My experience with Dr. Ameeta Walia's office was very disappointing and unprofessional. From the start, the staff didn't wear name tags, which made the office feel disorganized and unwelcoming. Dr. Walia herself was rude and dismissive, ordered 5 to 7 tests at a time without explaining why, and refused to review the results or provide copies of my medical records--which is illegal. When I asked questions, she kept saying "everything is normal," even though I was later diagnosed with a serious heart valve issue that she completely missed. To make matters worse, a nurse practitioner was evaluating patients without Dr. Walia present, which is highly unethical and possibly illegal. Many of her patients are Indian, and it seems she takes advantage of that, assuming they won't speak up. I strongly advise avoiding this practice if you want respectful, transparent, and proper care

★★★★★

Well the doctor and her office staff are very good and show patient care, the office wait is terrible and is actually detrimental to the patients. I can't tell you how many times I have heard people complaining that they have to wait. I've been waiting an hour and 40 minutes and I have yet to see the nurse or doctor. Edit on 10/09/2005: So I just went back for a follow up visit from the time I sat at the office to the time I left was less than an hour. So the nursing assistant had EKG and blood pressure taken and had a lovely discussion with Dr. Walia. This office takes care of their patients and has their best well-being in mind. Seems like any issues they had as far as scheduling and lateness cleared up. Glad to be patient with Dr. Walia- you will be too.
