Dr.Bob Frankel, He's saved more lives than the Coast Guard. 2 days ago started like any other day until a heaviness and escalating chest pain resulted in a call to 911. As a physician myself, we are perhaps better acclimated to handle intense situations, but having an accomplished physician with a bedside manner to match is the greatest comfort to a patient. Dr Frankel's expertise and calming manner clearly place him in this category. Within minutes of arrival to Maimonides ER, the process of rapid diagnosis and treatment was under way. I was rapidly transported to the cath lab where Dr Frankel and his team performed angioplasty, placing a stent to alleviate the cause of the chest pain. Because of the rapid treatment I did not incur any structural heart damage. As a patient, I am grateful for his care and dedication. As a physician, in my humble opinion he is a "physician's physician " and worthy to be included with the best cardiologists in New York.
