Dr. Lookman Lawal is easily one of the best cardiologists I've seen in New Mexico. After years of dealing with fragmented care, specialist shortages, and long waits, he is the first doctor who was able to look at my entire situation and actually connect the dots.
He listens, takes his time, and treats me like a person instead of a list of symptoms. What really sets him apart is that he can handle both structural and rhythm issues without sending me on a referral maze. That alone is rare here.
For the first time in years, I'm finally getting the treatments I need. I don't have to bounce between multiple offices or re explain my whole medical history every visit. He manages my care in a way that feels stable, competent, and genuinely thoughtful.
If you're dealing with complex heart issues or chronic illness in New Mexico, you already know how difficult it is to find consistent care. Dr. Lawal has been a game changer for me, and I'm truly grateful for the support he's provided.

First of all I want to say that Dr Lawals staff are amazing, kind, helpful and professional. I however feel like I wasted 8 months of my time spending 3 hours every 2 weeks waiting to get answers. I did get a diagnosis finally but getting help for my diagnosis is a different story. I ended up getting a second opinion just to be sure because it is my life and body. I believe Dr Lawal took offense to it because the last time I went in he refused to look at me when I went in and from my perception, A RN seems to be handling my case now. (No offense to the RN he's a great nurse and a nice guy. I just didn't come to this clinic to not be seen by this specialist.) I wasn't told, didn't get a heads up or anything. I left feeling bewildered as I have never broke any rules and I was never openly hostile or rude or anything to any of them. I will no longer go back and I am questioning Dr Lawals choices and maybe ethics as well. I would say trust your own instincts with this medical practice and if you feel you need to get a second opinion do it. After all it could be your life they have in their hands.

Staff is friendly and helpful but it definitely sucks having to wait 1-3 hours AFTER your appointment time to be seen. Way too slow and overbooked at this location for this.

You will have to wait 2 to 3 hours after your appointment time to get seen, and the office is always full with not enough chairs for everyone to sit. I would not recommend this office to anyone. The staff is unfriendly and you will waste your time.
