Dr. Richard Wilkerson is a board-certified Vascular Surgeon at Lovelace Health System in Albuquerque, NM. He specializes in Vascular Surgery and General Surgery, with expertise in the open and endovascular treatment of aortic disease, carotid surgery, lower extremity revascularization, treatment of venous disease, vascular ultrasound interpretation, carotid stenting, hemodialysis access surgery, and spine exposure surgery. Dr. Wilkerson completed his medical education at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and his residency in General Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. My appointment went well though I never had to see a vascular cardiologist so I didn't know what to expect. I thought tests were needed to determine if I have congestive heart failure, but none was given. I respect Dr Wilkerson opinion.

Dr. Wilkerson is the greatest doctor in Albuquerque. He is attentive, caring, supportive. In January, he amputated my left leg after being abandoned by Presbyterian over insurance, watched by doctors at UNM, but not actively treating me. He ALWAYS had time for questions, fears, and emotional as well as physical well being going forward. I truly cannot say enough about how amazing he is nor how indebted I am to him.
