The dr goes above and beyond my expectations, he has cared for my child since he was in belly and we still continue to see him. I trust his knowledge and judgment when it comes to pediatric cardiology

About the nastiest staff I have ever encountered. I was in the waiting room, and one of his employees asked me to come into the office area. Then, she asked me if i could fix her bracelet. I was taken aback, and not wanting to cause any trouble, I did. she then said "see, men are good for something!" Dr. Fernandez social skills were also on par with his staff's. Response to John: You think we were at a different John Fernandez, pediatric cardiologist office in West Orange, and you are calling me "strange???" You should be ashamed of yourselves for treating parents this way. We are there because we love our children, not to be abused and belittled. Your response is that I am a lying? You are lying. You are claiming we were never in your office? We were definitely in your office, and were treated poorly. If you want to settle this, we can take lie detector tests, and the one who is lying pays for the tests and posts a public apology. Are you on? Hey Fernandez, it has been a year, where is that "legal team" of yours? Put up or shut up.

I've been seeing Dr. Fernandes since about 18 weeks pregnant after my son was diagnosed with a complex heart defect during a routine ultrasound. He really has been so wonderful throughout my pregnancy, and now is doing such a great job with my little one. He is very knowledgeable, thorough, compassionate. The front desk staff really does a great job as well making sure you're prepared for appointments and keeping things running smoothly. Highly, highly recommend. Updating to add: I've now been going to Dr. Fernandes for 2.5 years, my son has been seen by him through 3 surgeries, and we'll be continuing to see him as long as he is practicing. We're so unbelievably thankful how he's helped us navigate such a difficult time and taken the best care of my son. Not only can we trust his expertise, I also know he wants the best for us and having doctors who care about your child truly is a priceless thing. Also as my son is in the difficult toddler years, Dr. F and his staff are so efficient at getting the echos done quickly without sacrificing the thoroughness and quality, which is also no little thing for me as a mom. Jackie and the others up front also do such a great job getting us in and accommodating our schedule as best they can even though they are a busy office. Thank you all!!

I'm not sure how this doc got on all of these lists of best doctor! For someone with such a specialty to only see a patient for an exam of baby's heart for 2 minutes total is such a waste of my time and money! Thank goodness I have amazing insurance that covers his visit with no deductible, but wow, I've never felt this unimpressed or comforted by a doctor before. He has absolutely no bedside manner, did not engage in any conversation, said all of about 10 words, and didn't engage with me while he was doing the exam. I asked a question about the baby and he redirected me saying it wasn't important. Good LORD! Not to mention the terrible office staff!!! No warmth or compassion, almost like robots in there. The woman at the front desk who also sits in the exam room wouldn't even help me up off the table and was disgusted when I reached my hand out for some assistance (getting a 3rd trimester mama from a completely flat position to an upright position without moving the table or lending a hand!!!). I cannot believe these people deal with pregnant women and children, because they really are in the wrong field. I should have read the reviews before going to this doctor, AND the response from Owner which I find even more furious. With so many doctors in the state and we're so close to NY with other fabulous doctors and facilities, it would be more wise from a business standpoint to be careful how they respond.

My son and I have been seeing Dr.Fernandes since I was 20 weeks pregnant. Dr. Fernandes is a godsend. He's a very patient person who genuinely cares about his patients. He is thorough and always takes the time to explain things to me in terms that I can actually understand. He's diligent and takes his time to make sure my sons health is the best possible. Dr.Fernandes is a kind, compassionate, and brilliant doctor! His staff is no different and will go the length to make sure all is well.
