Mark J Zucker MD

I first met Dr. Zucker 19 years ago when my brother (also a heart recipient from Florida), moved to NJ and went under his care. Due to a congenital heart disease I knew I would be facing an eventual transplant. From the moment I met him when he cared for my brother, I knew that I wanted to be under the care of Dr. Zucker and his Transplant team. He was direct, straight forward but at the same time personable and caring. I was transplant 17 years coming this December #291. My kids were only 11 and 14. I have seen them both get married, my daughter had her first baby this June and my son and his wife are expecting in March. None of which would have been possible without Dr. Mark Zucker. I had the pleasure of volunteering for a couple years up at NBI before I returned the work in 2005. It was a privilege and an honor to be around both him and his team to see the miraculous outcomes. The care, and attention, continues to be second to know. In short Dr. Zucker and this Transplant Program saved my life. My children grew up with their mother, and now their children will have their grandmother. To say I am grateful is an understatement. So a big shout out to Dr. Zucker, the Transplant Team and Newark Beth Israel for all you have done and continue to do.

This year, 2019 I celebrated my 20th year of receiving my heart transplant. I find that Dr. Mark Zucker has had the same caring personality of the man I met 26 years ago. Dr. Zucker and his team maintained my medical care with medication for 6 years before my heart condition worsened. I am grateful to Dr. Zucker and the transplant team because I got to see my daughter and son graduate from college and I get to spend time now with my granddaughter and grandson. I know, Dr. Mark Zucker is a brilliant doctor, he is professional, caring and in-tune with his patients. Dr. Zucker said he wanted to be three things in his life, a pilot, auto mechanic and a Doctor. MY FAMILY AND I THANK GOD THAT HE BECAME A DOCTOR.

Dr. Zucker is the reason that I'm alive today. 3 years ago, Dr. Zucker and his team took in a very sick, and very scared, 26 year old and gave me a chance to live the rest of my life. If you need an example of the quality work performed here, I was playing competitive baseball just FIVE AND A HALF WEEKS after my heart transplant. Over the years, Dr. Zucker has been supportive, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any question I asked him. He has been honest, forthcoming, and always done what's in the best interest for me and my health. I support Dr. Zucker without reservation.

I received a transplanted heart from Dr Mark Zucker and his team on January 22, 2018 at Newark Beth Israel hospital. I was a high risk patient because of my incurable amyloidosis, which damaged my heart. Because I required extensive post transplant care for this disease, including chemotherapy, I was not a good gamble if Dr Zucker and the team were primarily concerned with their survival statistics. Instead, they put my interests above their own and gave me a fighting chance. The transplant was a success and the post transplant care has been phenomenal. I would give Dr Zucker ten stars if I could.

This program by this extraordinary Dr. saved my husband's life. If not for Dr. Mark Zucker and his transplant team at Newark Beth Israel my husband would not be alive. He gave us hope when we had nothing to look forward to. He has exceptional bedside manners and is a joy to talk to. He makes you laugh, he is a brilliant doctor. His positive outlook on life makes everything better. Our year after my husband's transplant he was diagnosed with CML chronic myeloid leukemia. He was optimistic and helped us Come to a decision as to what the bestMedication would be for his situation. My husband has gone back to his normal routine and is living his life all thanks to Dr. Mark Zucker and the transplant team at Newark Beth Israel
