Dr. Mark J. Krell, MD

I have had an excellent clinical experience with Dr. Krell and also appreciate the office staff (that works very hard). Dr. Krell is experienced, practical, and a very good communicator. He is decisive yet balanced with his recommendations, and appropriately cautious with medications and procedures. This is an "old school" practice, and I appreciate the staff is managing some volume so are under strain (I'm sure they are overworked and underpaid). Feedback Unfortunately, the overall experience is adversely affected by some process issues and the office not running on schedule (appointments take too long). My well-intended suggestion, given interest in "consistently delivering the very best medical care", is for Dr. Krell to personally do a walkthrough of the end-to-end process and focus on the "customer experience" at each step from the perspective of the patient. There are certainly opportunities for continuous improvement and to better leverage technology (and perhaps reduce the number of portals used). Some details ... Most of the forms used are older "manual" forms. I have seen a few things that created unnecessary stress, such as (a) pre-op instructions missed GLP1 drug protocols (the form is outdated in today's GLP1 environment), (b) a blood thinner prescription was missed and not submitted (working practice should be to submit the prescription before leaving the exam room), and (c) confusion over prior authorization protocols, (d) confusion over cardiac clearance for surgery. And it is somewhat difficult to communicate with the team, other than during appointments. In addition, this practice could perhaps do more to help identify opportunities to reduce medication costs (manufacturer savings cards) when prescribing some medications. Notwithstanding this feedback, I'm very happy with Dr. Krell and team.

My experiences with Dr. Krell have been marvelous and I have been a cardiac patient for many years. However, his nurse Nicky, often neglects to return calls even though she promises to. I find this the be terribly vexing...I am 94 years old if that is relevant. I am hoping to rely on Dr. Krell's secretarial staff, which is great, to obtain answers to my questions in a timely manner. Further, I don't believe I must change my doctor because of staff inefficiency.

We came with dad and the receptionist was very rude with us, they should not have people with that attitude working at this places, awful customer service

Terrible service and no customer care Mark does not follow up his customer care is the worst and his staff is terrible about doing their job. I would not recommend there are many better doctors then Mark. Office visits are a waste of time Mark will just talk your ear off about everything any conversation about your heart is nonexistent

Dr Krell is an EXCELLENT cardiologist. Very straight forward, speaks to you in laymans terms and always willing to answer questions.Never rushes you and always tells you it like it is. Good or bad. He listens to everything you say and responds. Has been my cardiologist for 7 years now.I completely trust the man.
