Patient
My 70-year-old aunt, who is battling stage 4 cancer, was referred to Dr. Weber. From the start, she expressed discomfort with his bedside manner and had planned to switch doctors, but her ongoing treatments made that difficult. Today, she took time off work to attend her scheduled cardiology appointment--only to be turned away at the front desk. Staff claimed she had canceled, but she hadn't. In fact, MyChart still showed the appointment as scheduled. This was clearly their error, yet they made no effort to accommodate her. They told her she'd have to call back to reschedule for another day. This kind of treatment is disappointing and unacceptable, especially for a patient dealing with serious health issues. Compassion and basic accountability should be a given in healthcare--sadly, that was not our experience here.
