We were coming from a distance and the office staff was very friendly and efficient. They were accommodating and assisted in getting information. Dr Kaple was gentle, extremely helpful and explained in detail what options would be. Derrick went above and beyond to secure a CT scan pronto so a second trip wouldn't be necessary. I am embarrassed to admit that I am woefully late in writing my review of my interaction with Dr.Kaple and his staff. I am without valid excuse other than to note that II forgot because I was dealing with multiple and serious additional, contemporaneous medical problems, which mostly have successfully resolved. Succinctly, I was almost 74 years old at the relevant time. I had a very seriously diseased & deteriorated, life threatening, Aortic valve and stenosis, which despite heavy exercising on my part, did not generate any notable symptoms. I learned of my problem , accidentally, from unrelated medical testing being done pre- sinus surgery. Due to the seriousness of the problem , Dr. Kaple and his team quickly worked up my diagnosis, made me sit in my recliner chair for a few days and then did a surgery which required only one night in the hospital ( and that only because they got to me later than planned, on the day of operation and it was too late to do all the discharge procedures). The operation and post-op was virtually pain free . I never had to take a pain relief drug and only briefly ( as planned pre-op) took blood thinner medication for a short time. You should know that I was a senior trial and appellate attorney for 50 years , for a major law firm, and I had just retired. I do not suffer fools or incompetence well and tend to be short on patience. As you can imagine, I wanted a surgeon with a great reputation. Other senior physicians at HH, highly recommended. Dr. Kaple. I also demand compact , factual , complete information , possible alternative treatment, a diagnosis, possible post-op fproblems, etc. I got all that from Dr. Kaple in a friendly , but professional and complete pre-op consult. The surgery was wholly successful. I never had any complications and I was back to the gym in a seeming flash. His follow-up was top notch.
