It's hard to say little when there is so much to say. Remember the most pleasant experience when you would sit face to face with a favorite uncle. You could feel the warmth in his voice, the caring and most of all the feeling of peaceful reassurance that you were in the company of someone who cared about you. Well welcome to my appointments with Dr. Howard Rothman. Soft spoken but firm in his conviction that you were to be told , straight out, what was good and what was wrong with you blood work or test results. A little smiling face in red ink on your page of your test results of a question mark spoke volumes Of what you needed to do or stop doing . Scared straight in a soft and gentle manner . And finally the encouragement to be kind to yourself and take action to be healthy or healthier going forward with his and your own expectations of continued success in being well.

I would beg to differ on the positive reviews. And don't get me wrong - I am glad he worked out so well for so many of you and thank God you had that experience. In fact I had a positive interaction with him once in the Englewood ER. He was very pleasant then. However, on a later Occassion about 6 years ago, I brought in a patient with her labs and placed them on his desk. He dismissed them, missing a clear sign of significant anemia that a 1st year med student would likely not miss as it clearly showed on an iron panel in the blood work. He brushed the labs off. I don't think he even looked at them, or just gave them a fleeting glance. He then made some angry dismissive comments, said the visit was totally unnecessary, and never followed up with the patient. The patient died several months later. To this day, I never found out why he did that. I think this is a lesson, that sometimes caring about a patient is very important and especially caring enough to make a quick follow up call to see how the patient is doing and if there are any questions. Even if the call is weeks later. And patients, make sure you get all your questions answered by your Dr. and if you feel dismissed in the slightest, make an appointment with another perhaps more caring, more patient Dr ASAP. I am a healthcare provider and I approve of this review.
