I've been a patient of dr mermalstein for over 5 years I have never met a better cardiologist he listens and explains things so you understand he is going to be missed when he retires

The doctor is extremely condescending. When you have a severe anxiety disorder and are told you have a cardiac problem, he just gives you unhelpful, patronizing answers. You are so scared that you're afraid to move and when you ask a cardiac question, he has a dismissive attitude towards you which gives you more anxiety and in turn makes your cardiac problem worse. Anxiety disorder is and actual medical problem!

This practice has no regard for their patients. I'm not a patient but my family member is. After discharge from the hospital no one called to see how the patient was doing- the only call was to change the 2 week ( should have been 1 week) follow up appt to a 6 week appointment without even asking how the pt was doing post discharge . Poor practice but real at this office is Changes in medication conveyed to the pt by office staff. To date dr mermelstein has not spoken to the patient. Finally at 3 weeks post discharge the pt was seen by a office technician for symptoms and evaluation by ekg. And still no call by the Dr. and the phone tree is ridiculous-- more then 4 layers before you speak to someone. This is a cardiology practice for goodness sakes !! Not dermatology!

You are lucky if Dr. Mermelstein is your cardiologist. Incredible background and great doctor. Takes time to explain everything to you without feeling rushed and answers questions you email him through the portal promptly.

The administration in this office is hopeless. Waited for 30 minutes twice before being hung up on. Finally when the receptionist answered she was rude.
