About Dr. Robert Altman, MD, FACC
Dr. Altman is the Chair of the Department of Cardiology at Summit Health New Jersey. He specializes in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, diagnosing and treating patients with abnormal heart rhythms. Prior to arriving at Summit Health, he practiced in the Mount Sinai Health system where he was an attending physician, the Co-Course Director of the Cardiac Pathophysiology Course, and Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine. He is an expert in the minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of abnormal heart rhythms with procedures called catheter ablations. He implants heart rhythm devices such as pacemakers, implantable defibrillators (ICDs), and cardiac resynchronization devices (CRT). He specializes in complex cases.
