Dr. Spano took the time to listen to me and I believe she understood what my concerns were. She also took the time to ease my apprehensions explain my options, which I absolutely appreciated. I give Dr. Spano 4 stars. The scheduler, however, at least in the cardiology department at the Berkeley Heights office, is probably the most rude and unprofessional office person I have ever dealt with. The last conversation I had with that individual, after we had a misunderstanding which she insisted was not her fault, took the time to tell me to "act like an adult" just before she hung up on me. I wasn't even upset with the misunderstanding or the waste of my day, it was the instant defensive she mounted and the tone she continued to take. I don't care what her reasons were, that is NEVER ok. Unfortunatly for Dr. Spano an unpleasant staff makes for unhappy patients.

Dr. Spano-Brennan has gone above and beyond to try to figure out why my blood pressure is high without trying to prescribe lots of drugs to get it under control. She is compassionate about the fact that I am trying not to take a lot of medication and has spent time explaining how the meds work to me. Highly recommend her!

Was referred by my GP but couldn't get appt for about 6 months. When it finally came around, doc had an emergency that day and the next available appt was 6 weeks later. Office then called 3x to keep moving the appt earlier in the day--ended up with a 7:30am appt time, which is a little nuts but I accepted it. Just heard that they need to reschedule me again, for 8 weeks later. Called the office to ask why and they rudely said that the doctors schedule had changed. No apology or anything. When I expressed frustration, receptionist got ruder and told me she'd need to speak to the doc about "fitting me in" like I was the one who created the issue. I told them not to bother and hung up. Then got a call back saying that the doc could see me but only if I could come in first thing the next day. No thanks. If you are looking for a cardiologist who thinks your time is equally valuable, I'd avoid this one.

Good doctor. Staffing and scheduling could be improved.
