We can't thank the team at Port City Vet enough for saving our sweet cat, Spork. She needed emergency surgery and they acted so quickly and compassionately. They kept her for a couple of days after surgery and took such amazing care of her. The text and call updates meant so much while we were worried -- they were always kind and informative. Because of their incredible care, we now get to enjoy many more years with our girl. We'll be forever grateful for everything they did for Spork and for us.

Dr. Berger was truly wonderful in a moment of midnight emergency stress with our cat. I don't really know how to describe her bedside manner. Absolutely perfect balance of empathy and information with an unexpected dash of purely natural, unteachable comedic instinct. We would trust her with our pet anytime and are very grateful for her care. Thank you so much, Dr. Berger.

We brought our dog Teppy to Port City Veterinary Hospital the night of November 3rd, 2025 after Teppy was struck by an SUV. We thought he wouldn't make it after being hit so hard. He totaled the vehicle that hit him!! The nurses and doctor that treated Teppy were wonderful. We had the option of taking him home to monitor him or keep him at the hospital overnight so they could monitor him. We were very comfortable leaving Teppy there overnight for evaluation. They made him comfortable and made us comfortable too. We brought him home the next day, bangged up and bruised, but alive! I wouldn't hesitate to bring Teppy there again.

Port City saved my 5 pound Chi-Mix's life. There was initially confusion with my dog's admission, because there were two dogs under the same name. I was out of the country attending my son's wedding and our Dog Sitter recognized our pup needed medical intervention at 5:30 in the morning and was fast acting to get her help. Once the confusion was resolved, which occurred quickly. The staff were not only extremely apologetic for the confusion but also communicated with the other team members to ensure that all was sorted. Throughout her stay, staff members were helpful, informative, empathetic, and extremely professional and kind. My pup required Intensive care for 5 days and she was able to receive the life-saving treatment she needed. I additionally received a follow up call related to the initial confusion, again was met with professionalism, sincere apologies, concern related to how that may have impacted me (being out of the country etc) and accountability just that the error occurred. My pup required round the clock care, and while she was treated by three separate Veterinarians, it was evident that their communication was stellar and they were fully committed to ensure she was getting exactly what she needed and no "balls were dropped" during the team transitions. When we returned from the trip, we were allowed to visit her, with her brother which also helped assuage our anxiety and concerns. I feel incredibly fortunate and grateful for the staff who cared for my pup, as well as the individuals' who took the time to check in to ensure that I knew that they took the initial paperwork/admission "confusion" very seriously. They were absolutely wonderful. She's still on the mend and taking lots of meds, but she's definitely feeling better and her body is healing. Picture 1 is from email update getting IV's, Pic 2 is email update with NG tube, pic 3 our "visit" and pic 4, at home resting

Excellent facility! My dog, Bo, Had a shoulder injury. We brought him in, and Dr. Berger was wonderful with him. She was kind and gentle and explained everything that she felt was going on. The entire staff was compassionate and friendly, and the facility itself looked better than a human emergency room.!!
