Dr Desai of Reno heart institute came highly recommended to me by my primary care provider. I should have taken it as a sign when it took over a week of trying to call daily and set up an initial appointment, nobody picked up the phone or returned my messages. Eventually I just stopped into the office, was apologized to by staff as their "phone system was under transition", and was finally able to make an initial appointment - 2 months out (their earliest available). Good thing my heart condition wasn't critical! I finally head into my appointment and meet with the PA for about 15 minutes to check vitals and answer questions. When Dr Desai finally joined, he brought a resident intern with him so I proceeded to discuss my issues not just for him but for two others in the room. He was so distracted for most of my appointment, continually checking his phone and texting, I did not feel that he genuinely cared about my heart health! Bedside manner was some of the poorest I've seen, but decided to give him another chance. I proceeded to schedule an EKG for 2 months later and a heart monitor a few weeks after that (their earliest available). While the EKG went smoothly, April 1 comes around and I get a phone call 25 MINUTES prior to my heart monitor placement to let me know they had to cancel due to "transition of heart monitors and not having enough inventory". Upon realizing this was not an April fool's joke, I became pretty distraught given I had to rearrange my entire work schedule to accommodate the heart monitor (I cannot wear it in the environment at which I work) and was losing $700 that week as a result. Totally and completely unprofessional! Save yourself the time and frustration, and take your business elsewhere.
