My husband had the absolute best team of nurses , anesthesiologist ,and perfusionist all led by Dr. Wood who is an absolute legend in our home. His bedside manner was so on point for what my husband could connect with. He understood the importance of explaining the process and procedure. My husband and our family was able to feel empowered to make decisions with confidence. My husband made a full recovery and feels better than he thought possible. Thank you Dr Wood!

I have to thank Dr Wood for the excellent care he provided my father. As a cardiac critical care physician who works at a big center outside of Las Vegas, I was nervous when I found out that my dad needed heart surgery in Vegas. I called around to a few cardiologists in town and everyone told me Dr Wood is one of the best, and now I can see why. He performed a technically excellent surgery with a perfect outcome and no complications. He was able to harvest the radial artery for 2 coronary bypass grafts giving my dad a total of 4 arterial bypass grafts which is as good as any surgery he could have gotten at a big center like Cedars Sinai or Cleveland Clinic. He was also able to do the surgery without the heart-lung bypass machine which is technically more challenging but makes for an easier recovery in the ICU. He trained at NYU and used to be the chief of cardiac surgery at Mountain View before moving to St Rose. He also has a great bedside manner. He talked to us in detail the day before the surgery about the risks and benefits and was nice when other family members asked him the same questions the next day. We were told by no less than 10 people in the hospital that Dr Wood is the best cardiac surgeon in town, including the nurses, PT/OT, case managers, Xray techs, case managers, etc... His team of NPs and PAs (Joshua, Julie, and Suzy) provided excellent medical care with sound clinical decision making when my dad was in the ICU and on the inpatient floor and also had a great bedside manner. They have worked together as a team for many years and it shows in their teamwork. Joshua, the NP who follows all the patients in the ICU, has a PhD in cardiac physiology and a lot of experience in cardiac critical care. The ICU is not a dedicated cardiac ICU, but only the most experienced nurses with special qualifications take care of the cardiac patients and the ICU team works very closely with the cardiac surgery team. Every nurse I met in the ICU was experienced with more than 10 years of experience working with cardiac patients and I could tell they were excellent experienced nurses. I'm forever grateful to the excellent care that Angela gave my dad the first night after his surgery. I grew up in Las Vegas, and it makes me happy knowing that Vegas has an excellent cardiac surgeon like Dr Wood.

As a retired physician who practiced for 35 years in Las Vegas and am very familiar with the cardiothoracic/vascular surgeons and programs throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Having never had a symptom of "heart disease" in my life you can imagine my initial shock when a pain in my chest awoke me from a sound sleep. After accepting the reality that I was having a heart attack I immediately called 911 and instructed them to take me to Dr. Michael Wood's program so I could be under his care. Even though it had been just over a year since I retired I was extraordinarily pleased with the continued progress the Mountain View Hospital program has made under the ongoing leadership of Dr. Wood. The care I received was excellent. As I repost this today I am 5 years post surgery from my coronary artery bypass grafting surgery and have superb cardiac function and great open grafts. I could not be more pleased with the diagnosis, and surgical treatment I received for my heart attack. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Michael Wood for your surgical procedure. BTW- he's also a very nice guy!
