Do NOT come here if you can help it. Most of the nurses are awesome and really care about giving good treatment. However, there is an air of aloofness from most doctors. they do not even really give much information unless you pull it out of them, and most of the time I feel like I am providing solutions to THEM. More than once have I asked about a treatment only to have a doctor, someone who went to school for this, look at me and say "hey that's a good idea". Twice my mother with cancer was moved to different rooms in the middle of the night and nobody called to tell us where she was. They didn't even keep her pain medication schedule from floor to floor. I've had panic attacks about the level of care she's been getting here. The main oncologist treating her canceled a surgery to remove a tumor because they were on vacation in africa.... Riding a giraffe. (This is completely true) Will they keep you alive here? Sure. Will they treat you like a burden for asking questions and not tell you anything about what they are doing before they do it to you? Yes. Will you feel like you are in the hands of a competent, professional medical team? Absolutely not

Carson Tahoe Hospital will always own space in my . As a former employee with positive memories and experiences, and as a patient. BUT today! My mom had a THA, in and out in a day. The communication was flawless, the staff was so streamlined, yet personable, and professional. Absolute medical perfection..To her welcoming RN, pre-op RN, anesthesiologist RN, surgery RN, Dr. Warren (ROC surgeon), post-op RN, and PT...THANK YOU! The calls, updates, kindness and compassion, you are the BEST.

Came to the hospital to have some paperwork to filled out by the doctor that treated me. The information desk was no help, i asked them that if they can show me where to go to see the doctor I was looking for and to filled out my paperwork. But they directed me to medical records and the guy that was there was at a lost to why they sent me to them. So he helped me in a big way by sending my documents to the department that I was looking for. I was hospitalized at the Sierra surgery everything was great. But they didn't allow a caretaker to stay with me.

If you piss them off in any slightest of ways they will put you on hold forever. Michelle in billing is terrible at her job in customer service and everything. I inconvenienced her by being upset about their billing department. And instead of saying I completely understand, let's figure this out together. It was all blame game. After I told her the issues at hand that happened within the last couple of weeks. After asking to speak with someone else she puts me on hold and leaves me on hold. So I hang up. Put my number in the que to get a call back from the one and only MICHELLE. We'll she didnt even let me try to speak after verifying who I am. Put me straight on hold. I would've apologized for my frustration but she didnt even let me speak except get the words "you were my only call call back." Do better.

My experience happened 7 years ago, and ive been holding on to it ever since. I was scheduled for a surgury (that ended up being disdiagnosed, and unneeded), beofre the surgury the anethesiologyst called me by the wrong name (red flag). I corrected him and went into surgury. I WOKE UP DURING SURGURY! i remember everything. Tube in my throat, people freaking out. They out me back under. I woke up again in a recovery room, i brought up that fact that i woke up during surgury and the Dr. -DR. AMY SUE HAYES! - accused me of being a drug user and that it was my fault! Its been 7 years, i was young, i didnt stand up for myself. Im voicing it now. Thank u for listening.
