Amsterdam UMC, locatie AMC

We had the << opportunity >> to give birth in this hospital. It was the worst experience ever (and I can say this after having attended other births in France). The staff was unpleasant and everything was dehumanized. One of the midwives even made fun of my wife's suffering and they never wanted to give her painkillers. For foreigners who want to give birth in the Netherlands, find out beforehand because it may be worth going to any other European hospital, you will be better treated and monitored. The Netherlands is definitely not the most modern country for medical cares and this hospital is a great example !

Easy to access by metro. Huge place, interconnectes building, shops, a small city...

I had a trip to the prenatal unit and was seen to by Dr. E. van Leeuwen. She was the most supportive, even squeezing my hand every now and then during a very stressful visit. Her compassion is commendable and she helped make a very scary visit into something more comfortable. Would recommend her to anyone in this position.

I went yesterday at the emergency room, I was feeling extremely dizzy and felt like I was fainting from a moment to another, I have been sick for the past two weeks and I was very concerned. The doctor refused to visit my because he said I was seen the previous week in another hospital so I should have gone there even though he had all my medical history on his computer screen.No working ethic, no empathy just a lazy doctor not willing to do his job even facing someone sick asking for help, he refused to do any test.I was wondering why my GP sent me to the hospital in Amstelveen last week and not here (which it is just across the street from my house) now I understand why.I'm sure they will charge me EU for the visit though. Really scandalouse if this is the lever of humanity, professionality and working ethic better stay away . Shame.
