Patient
My husband, Ted Frederick had stents placed October 2023 by Dr. Bhardwaj at WRMC. His PCP- Dr. Jackson and cardiologist- Dr. Bhardwaj saved his life. Many thanks. On the day Ted went to hospital, I went out to clean out the car. We had made appointment with Dr. Jackson that day for Ted's "stomach issues". I heard kittens meowing on the roof of house so I got a ladder and found 3 kittens in the gutter extremely hot and meowing their little heads off. Momma cat was apparently still in labor so she ran off when I got the kitties out. I put the kittens in a laundry basket in the utility room and left the window open hoping momma cat would come in the hole in the screen to tend to them. I also put out cat food for her so maybe if she didn't hear her kittens, she would smell the food. They would be ok till we got back from appointment, right? We went to Dr. Jackson's office and Ted's symptoms were pointing to gallbladder until Doc ran an EKG. He told us to immediately head to the hospital and he would call ahead. Ted was having a heart attack. Heart cath showed several blockages and Ted had to have stents. Dr. Bhardwaj was very informative and great at explaining situation. I was so worried about my husband's health and didn't want to leave his side. In the back of my mind, I remembered 3 little kitties in a clothes basket back home. It was 24 hours before I got a chance to run home and gather more belongings and check on all our critters. I could immediately tell momma cat had not touched the food in the utility room! Oh no! Had i accidentally killed those babies? They were still very well alive and more than ready to eat! So here I go with the ladder again (home alone- don't do that yourself). I returned the babies to the roof and watched momma take them away. Ted's stents were placed with no complications and he was allowed to return home after another day of being monitored. He's doing great now and so thankful for his health team! Didn't see the kitties for 3 weeks until one day dogs were barking at fridge on back porch (forgot to mention that the dogs is why momma cat prefers the roof). Removed front panel and rescued an itty bitty Tom. He's a feisty little thang and I named him- Doc Bhardwaj. Many thanks to all involved in the care of my hubby. I'm so glad to still have him!!!
