Terrible experience. I was established at this practice from the time they first opened in Ozark. I've had regular wellness visits and occasional sick visits. I called last week to be seen for an injury and was told they aren't accepting new patients. I thought they must be looking at the wrong name and explained I wasn't a new patient, I had been there since they took over Dr Woods (amazing Dr) practice. Instead they claimed I was Dr Turner's patient and he was leaving so I no longer had a Dr! This was interesting to me because I had been going to a PA and never saw Dr. Turner. I'm not sure how I got assigned to him or how I got dumped from the practice while the rest of my family remains (for now) Their clinic management and ethics are poor. They tried to shift blame claiming I had received a letter they never sent. I wish there was a way to report them so they could be held accountable but it seems a google review is my only option. The clinic manager's poor judgement and unethical behavior shines poorly on the whole Cox Health system. Luckily my insurance allows me to utilize Mercy which I will be doing.

Tried to set an appointment with Dr Laughlin but she was out so agreed to see her nurse practitioner which did not go well told her I had a head cold and chest cold she said no could be the start of COPD. Did not prescribe any antibiotics. GUESS WHAT it got worst and it was a head and chest cold. And my husband caught it. So called back on Friday to leave her a message no return phone call or no antibiotic called in. Her nurse practitioner sucks

My experience with Dr. Turner at Ozark Clinic was extremely disappointing. He consistently dismissed concerns and failed to listen to his patients. When my mother, who was battling stomach cancer, was prescribed short-term insulin by a hospital physician, Dr. Turner refused to continue the prescription. He claimed she didn't need it, despite the hospital's clear recommendation.
This insulin was life-saving -- it helped stabilize her and gave us another year with her. Instead of providing thoughtful care, he handed out a generic pamphlet he wrote and repeatedly told female patients to "just lose weight," regardless of the complexity of their health issues.
In my opinion, Dr. Turner showed a serious lack of empathy and sound medical judgment. Patients deserve to be heard and treated with compassion -- especially those facing terminal illnesses. I would not recommend him to anyone.
I had to call and argue with his nurse about how serious this was.

Long story short, dont try to establish care here right now.
I made an appointment to establish care 4 months ago and got a call just now at 8:46 am, for a 10am appointment for which I was told to arrive 30 minutes early. They told me the physician I booked with hasn't been taking new patients and there was an issue with their scheduling software. When I pointed out the appointment was made 4 months ago, there was a pause and then the lady said she hadn't been taking patients for quote "a while now".
When I asked if there was anyone else I could see, I was told they have 2 other providers accepting new patients, but they are booked out for the rest of the year. When I asked how they could be accepting new patients but be booked out that long, I was told it was because another clinic nearby had closed and a lot of people are coming over.
What makes this worse is I called two days ago to see if I needed to fast this morning. No one said a word about canceling then. I also received multiple reminders, including one from this morning. If I had waited this long to cancel, I would have been told they would make record of this or something, or even still charge me for the appointment anyways. This is extremely frustrating.

have been establishing primary care for myself and children over the past three weeks, so I've had quite a few first visits. I would like to express Dr. Wylie and Nurse Mitsy as a great personable care team, getting to know our family well and talking to my children directly during the visits was helpful to know we will be cared for with intentionality and respect .
I put 3 stars bc I hope the customer care team sees these reviews and start making changes for excellence. Great service from Zach and Mario at the front desk. They have been especially helpful during the check in desk/check out process, they were both warm and inviting, looking to help figure out the app for people who have never navigated their system. These two have gone above and beyond. Some of the other check in desk team could learn from Zach and Mario's examples, because there is an obvious difference in attitude and care for patients coming in for an appt . This is a service position, with that comes with simple tasks when it comes to communicating with patients and their family, eye contact, and friendly tone instead of the impression that checking in is a more inconvenience to the worker than their job to serve.
