Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute

The standard of excellence I have received while here at the Mid-America Heart Institute at St Luke's has been nothing short of just that... EXCELLENCE!!! These beautiful individuals are "family" to me now having brought me out of a health crisis I didn't have on my agenda for the summer of 2024...Today, I was FINALLY able to walk downstairs to the first floor unassisted (yeah!!!) after not being able to walk, (much less dance...prima ballerina Bolshoi ballet) for weeks and unable to walk to the central Kansas City public library to play my beloved Yamaha grand piano in the lobby (concert pianist Kansas City Philharmonic) due to many unfortunate contributing factors which restricted the use of my legs... after much TLC by staff and physicians and hours of walking the floor with music filling the halls, today was my victory day!!! Too many names to list that made this possible but please know this... every single one of you will always have a special place in my heart from Food Service to physician...it truly took a village!!! The nurses here are the kindest, most loving group of professionals. The entire team was incredibly attentive, professional, and polite. I thank them for my quick recovery.

I had major open heart Cardiac surgery and St Luke's Plaza location. The professionalism of the physicians and staff was beyond compare. The staff of the ICU and the cardiac unit made my difficult recovery easier. The care from the nursing staff at all levels was awesome. I would not want to do this again but, if it was necessary I would chose no place but St Luke's Cardiac unit. Thank you for giving me my life back!!!

I was on a commercial flight from New York to Los Angeles - August 7 2023- I experienced severe chest pain - doctors on plane said I was having a heart attack! Taken by ambulance to St. Lukes emergency room Was operated on immediately- I was in ICU for 3 days and was treated royally- Truly the best most caring qualified staff - I could not have been treated better! Thank you St.Lukes Howard Schur

4th floor CICU nursing staff are amazing!! We especially loved all the kindness night nurse Lillian showed us! She is tops! They all took great care of my husband, even though he isn't as Chiefs fan.
