I had a recent visit with the Healiant group for a routine stress ECG. Aside from sticker shock for a relatively routine preventive care procedure, I found Dr. Park and his staff friendly and knowledgeable. My experience with St Jo's billing services (Prime healthcare) and their local business office personnel however have been abysmal. St. Jo's online patient portal indicates I owe an overdue patient balance for facility charges, but when I speak with local billing office personnel (twice now), I'm told the amount in question will be written-off by "management". The rep I spoke with refused to send me confirmation in writing to that effect and couldn't tell me when "management" would get around to this write-off. The "management" cop out is a huge red flag for me when dealing with any company. Lastly, I'm still waiting on a call back from Healient's office manager, so I've cancelled my annual follow-up for next year. I'll take my healthcare needs elsewhere.

Dr. Lundgren and the nurses are absolutely fantastic. He takes his time and focuses totally on you. What I don't like about Healient, is they have set up the process to call you back when it's convenient for them, even as simple as calling to set or change an appointment. Also, their Billing and Payments department never answers, and the system eventually hangs up on you. So, another unfortunate place where there the Business Operations has no clue what customer service is, and the poor doctors and nurses have to suffer working with a bunch of inadequate staff. Unfortunately, all of our Healthcare has declined to a 2nd class country. How 'bout those nasty politicians.

I had an 0830 am appointment scheduled and I specifically asked for first appointment so that it would be somewhat on time. I was asked to be there 15 min early, which I was. At 0900 I still hadn't been seen. As a nurse, I understand running behind but this is why I had the first appointment. I was then told by his medical assistant that he wasn't even there yet and is usually a little late. Apparently the 45 min I took from my workday isn't valuable to this practice. Imagine I had waited and then seen him.... How much later would everyone after me be waiting? And he only sees patients in the office one day a week.

Tremendous service over the last few years from Dr. Lundgren and the support staff at Healient. They truly earn high marks regarding their care. Regretfully, since Healient's move into St. Joseph Medical Center, it is the charges for service that have taken a dramatic turn for the worst. Twice yearly routine visits with Dr. Lundgren that ran no more than several hundred dollars as recently as early this year are now billed by SJMC at 4-5X what I paid before. SAME services provided, SAME insurance used, SAME consult with the doctor. I'm sure that makes perfect sense to someone, but that's simply 'BS' to me that I cannot tolerate. Dealing with these concerns through the SJMC business office has been an exercise in futility. I agreed to pay the exorbitant charges after I was offered a one-time discounted payoff. Still getting bills from SJMC where I was told my account would be PAID IN FULL. I just left another message to attempt to resolve since 330PM is apparently after hours. I've spent hours of my time in the last few months to simply move on. My blood pressure is not better for it. I NEVER review anything or anyone but in this case I had to be THAT GUY. Thank you Dr. Lundgren - I wish you and your team well.
