Brittany and Jake were the best most genuine nurses I've ever seen. They were so good with my mom, we thought we were going to lose her. Brittany stayed on every detail, she came in the room and would check to make sure my mom was comfortable. I've been around a long time and I know a lot of nurses but these 2 were top best in that hospital. The hospital all together is amazing and have the best caring nurses and doctors. God saved my mom through them. We love you Brittany and Jake. Love From Mary

I've been admitted twice in the past few weeks. Due to my own poor self-care. But I was treated with sympathy and empathy, although a lack of letting me sleep for more than a couple hours at a time. And the food sucked, but show me the hospital where it doesn't. But being treated like a human, that is so vital to recovering from anything. Their staff are well drilled in this.

I've usually been really loyal to Freeman and always felt like the care was compassionate and high quality. When my son was born at 28 weeks, just 2 pounds, the NICU team truly became my heroes and I'll forever be thankful for them.
More recently I've had some confusing visits to the ER. I came in with a lot of pain after a recent surgery and felt like I wasn't really being listened to. The male nurse and doctor seemed convinced I had kidney stones, even though I kept explaining what was going on. When my surgical site bled through the gauze on the bed, the nurse just said "I guess I was wrong," which was frustrating since I had told him that was happening already.
Things completely changed when a female ER doctor came in. She looked me in the eye, told me she was honored to care for me woman to woman, and actually listened. I was really scared and in pain, but her kindness and empathy made me feel safe. I wish I remembered her name because she deserves recognition.
Once I was admitted the medical team was excellent. They were thorough and caring and I felt much more at ease.
I gave 3 stars because my experiences have been mixed. Some of my care has been amazing and some has left me feeling frustrated. I still value Freeman overall and hope future visits start with the same level of listening and compassion I felt once I was admitted.

We had a son in NICU for 1 week at Freeman Hospital. The staff were wonderful, allowing my mother in law to visit and sit beside him in my place (I was home with our daughter and could not come). My son's father was there every day for hours and they taught him how to feed him a bottle, hold him, change his diapers, all with feeding tubes and other attachments. The team made rounds multiple times a day and always gave an update. The doctor, Dr. O, made sure to read up on each patient before rounds so that he could answer questions from our family. It was a wonderful experience for us, as much as it could be, and we wish all parents have the same good experience. We will be donating our premie clothes today as a way to say "thanks" and to give other families a small blessing. As we were blessed.

If I'm dying, and I'm right across the street from this place, I'll take my chances on making it to the other hospital in town. It's not so much the level of care I'm concerned about, I know some wonderful people that work for Freeman. It's their highly unethical and un-merciful billing practices. Please go somewhere else. I promise you, they won't care if you do or don't. Do it for your own peace of mind later on down the road. I had insurance at the time of all my visits, I had a plan worked out to make payments. You won't know how bad they screw you until you get served papers that you're being sued by them. They don't have time to wait on your payments after they were more than reimbursed by your insurance company. Shame on you, Freeman. This community helped you get where you are now. Now, all you want to do is bend over the same people who trusted you with their care.
*edit* They're still terrible. They messed up my wife's mammogram and offered to redo it free of charge. Then they sent the bill from the mammogram they messed up on to collections. We're fighting that this month in court. A hospital that wants to portray themselves as being the authority on advocating for women's health, doesn't care at all.
