Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Heart& Vascular Center: Heart Care Institute

I had a positive cardiac rehab experience with Heart Care Institute, LLC. The staff was very professional and knowledgeable. When I started, the financial coordinator was going over the insurance info about what they would cover. I made her aware that I couldn't pay any out of pocket expenses for the rehab services. She assured me that the rehab services provided would be covered by my insurance. The staff was encouraging me to do three months of cardiac rehab and I made them aware that I could only do what my insurance would cover which was six weeks. I recently received a garnishment from them stating I owe them $3,018.11 for rehab services. I was totally shocked by this and now I'm in financial hardship as well as medical hardship trying to pay this garnishment. Be aware to make sure you check with your insurance company about coverage before you start services. I'm very disappointed how Heart Care Institute, LLC handled this situation.

These physicians are who saved my life. Flown in on life support, critical condition, septic shock, endocarditis, pulmonary embolism, MSSA, septic arthritis multiple sites, kidney failure, respiratory failure (obviously), cellulitis, anemic and had a severe opioid addiction.... I was given a small chance of survival. In fact, doctors estimate that in only a few short hours more I'd of been dead. Clinging to life and was not expected to live and if I did they was saying my chances of making it past a few days was 20% survival rating with how sick I was... But, little did anyone know that the doctors and nurses here and Barnes don't let patients be statistics. 12 days later, I awoke with a long road ahead but after relearning everything over, I walked out 6 weeks later and never seen a doctor again... 5 years ago ... The fact I have had 0 updates and still survive are a testament to these amazing practitioners and health care Gods. Love always to you all xoxo

There may be no more highly regarded cardiologist than Alan Weiss, MD. I have several physicians in Greater St. Louis. Whenever Dr. Weiss' name was mentioned during one of my office visits or at the times of a few past hospitalizations, everyone seems to pay attention. It seems to make no difference if the discipline at the moment is other than cardiology. The name of Dr. Alan Weiss commands attention and respect in all areas of medical care. Personally, I think there is much to be said about knowledge combined with experience and wisdom. Dr. Weiss has an abundance of all three.

I see Dr. Nordlicht. He is always interested in my total health. If I comment about an issue, he will refer me to a specialist in that field. I then contact my primary care physician for his view and a referral based on my insurance requirements. Everyone at heart care institute is very friendly and helpful. They are also driven to my health. If you need a cardiologist, get an appointment here where the top doctors and staff are!
