Stern Cardiovascular Foundation

I had a visit today by referral, 10/2/2025 at 9:35am. My experience was OK considering I had rescheduled to a different office. Everything was fine until I reached the check out desk. I was told by the attending doctor that I could apply for financial assistance to help with my out of pocket expenses. I didn't know that because I had insurance I wasn't eligible for that. Anyway once I got to check out the lady ( don't know her name or nationality) Oriental I guess, asked if I wanted assistance. When suddenly this huge Caucasion woman began yelling you can't get charity because you have insurance. First of all NO ONE ASKED HER... And she kept repeating it with everybody looking at her. I was asked if I wanted to schedule an echo and I abruptly left and I said NO. I am in no way angry about her stupidity and ignorance but needed to express my feelings about her unprofessionalism. With the economy the way it is, she need to pray she never needs charity. Any way I loved my doctor. She was very nice, knowledgeable, and caring. Hope to see her soon.

Dr. Zhogbi works at both Stern Cardiology locations. When you are scheduled they do not alert you which building he will be in. I have seen him at both places. The other location is across the street. My appointment was at 1:45 today. I arrived on time to the wrong Stern building. By the time I got to the right location, I was late. I was in the hospital Monday through Friday for E coli and chest pain/difficulty walking. Sunday I almost died from anaphylaxis. It's hot today and I was walking slowly. They also have very few handicap spots so I had to park far away. I arrived to the correct check in desk at 1:56. The front desk checked me in and they were extremely understanding. I went back to have my BP taken. While there I could hear Dr. Zhogbi discussing that the front desk should not have checked me in and he didn't want to see me. He was being extremely rude to the staff. When I attempted to speak out several staff jumped up and shushed me in fear of him. They took me to a room. He came by my door and asked the staff again why he had to see me because I was late and she explained I was post hospital, arrived at the wrong location, and was extremely ill and walked slowly. He stated that it wasnt his fault but now he has to suffer for it like he was being punished by having to see me. Right by the door, loudly where i could hear. Also he rescheduled my appointments 4 or 5x for his scheduling errors and never helped me with a single symptom of POTS. He either prescribed things I was allergic to, were contraindicated, or just didn't work at all. Stern Cardiology seems wonderful otherwise. The manager was very nice. The staff werevery caring. They put me with another provider. I hope they take care of the staff there that work under him as they said they will. If you get scheduled with Zhogbi, run far away. He does not care about his staff or patients.

Other than a stress test that I absolutely hate (and who doesn't?) this was such a good experience, I can't say enough nice things about it. I was wondering if the four-leaf clover I found a year ago would ever kick in, and it finally did. I was so lucky to get a fast appointment and what felt like the very best care. The entire staff, starting with the front desk, were efficient, patient, sometimes funny and a real pleasure to be around. Dr. Darmesh Patel is warm and kind. I could not have asked for a better cardiologist. I actually look forward to my next appointment, as long as it doesn't include a stress test.

Starting with the front end ladies at the desk, they really need to work on their customer service because they are supposed to be communicating with patients and etc. The two ladies, one kind of heavy set, and the skinny girl with the short hair cut. But blondes. They seem to just want you to hand over your ID and insurance card, hand you paperwork to sign then brush you off and continue on with their conversations. Doesn't really represent the office correctly or in a proper conducting way when you are rude to patients and disregarding them when they try to ask questions. Continuing from there, don't ever think that if you have an appointment that they will go by it what so ever. Almost 3 hours later. At almost 2 hours later after already having a scheduled appointment, they take you to the back to briefly speak to you, then gone. This isn't even the doctor you have an appointment with either. So going on another hour and half almost, still waiting in one of the patient rooms and not having concerns addressed, not having a doctor for patient to speak with, nothing. If you are referred to this office for anything, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD go ELSEWHERE OR TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION. Because you never know whether your actually going to see a doctor or if you are just going to be letting them run up billed hours with no actual consultation or help with any matters.
