Dr Dharmesh Patel is an outstanding doctor who listens to my parents and explains procedures and medicine thoroughly. He is caring and wants to improve their heart health. I highly recommend him. Although the reviews for office staff are not good we have had no problems and have been treated well.

I've been a patient of Dr Patel for a long time and the service has been very good until now. I was to have surgery Dec. 17th, but because Dr Patel's office didn't do their part, ( send release to the surgeon) I spent hours calling to try expediting the the release even to the point of calling the insurance company. I'm very hurt and upset because no one took the time to let me know if everything was ok.

Dr. Patel is a outstanding cardiologist.I have always thought that until I found out there is no regard to respecting the privacy to his patients or at least informing them of any issues related to their treatment. I hadn't seen him in a while. Upon entering the examination room he ask me if we had a problem. At this point I didn't know what he really meant. For him to ask me this it now tells me that he was aware of a problem and didn't mention anything about it. A couple of months later I get a statement from his office with his new nurse practitioner, Christy Thornhill's signature on it. I instantly knew who she was and what Dr. Patel was keeping hidden from me. When did spreading lies about a patient become acceptable? Apparently slander or defamation of character is not in their vocabulary. I have told her mother several years ago that this was stuff that happened when I was a fairly young child and furthermore it was a step brother that finally got caught red handed and not me.

I was disappointed with the doctor and her assistance. Let me say this, I did go unprepared for most of the questions she asked about the products I CURRENTLY use on my scalp and hair. I drew a total blank! It was as if someone sucked my memory out of my brains. Lol. However, when the doctor gave me solutions, she never asked if I had tried those products in the past. She didn't inquire into my history. I felt like an assembly line patient. I did tell the doctor there was one product she recommended that I was allergic to and she quickly rattled off another product that didn't work for me in the past. It was at this point, I decided not to bother to say anything. You would think she would have asked if I had used these products?? She looked at my legs and called my condition scarring or something no other dermatologist had ever mentioned and basically blew me and it off. When I kept going back to my legs, she seemed irritated. She said it would cost me $300 or so to remove. Dr Patel, please ASK me how important it is to me. I am not moved by that price point....never assume. My previous dermatologist in Birmingham was a cosmetic surgeon as well as dermatologist. When I showed him my condition, he took like a little scalpel and removed them immediately without hesitation. They did not leave scars. This procedure was done about 9 or 10 years ago. I had more to grow and wanted them removed. It is hereditary for women in our family. Dr. Patel actually looked at me with distaste when I tried to explain what had taken place before and kinda threw her hand as if to wave off what I was telling her. The icing on the cake was the assistance. Gee whiz, she was going over the facial products the doctor recommended and told me the doctor had a product she created that would save me money. I explained to the assistant my card would cover a prescription but not the doctor's product. She proceeded to tell me what my card would cover and how it works. I tried to explain to her my card and the fact I have never had a problem with any prescription. I asked her to write me the two prescriptions prescribed by the doctor versus telling me to purchase their products. She got so frustrated with me. She said she needed to get the doctor to explain it to me and said we had a communication problem. I informed her there was not a communication problem and I slowly began to repeat what she told me and also my point of view. Keep in mind, I am not talking loud, I am not being aggressive, I was simply asking her to give me a prescription for the two products. She started shaking and trembling. I told her there was no need to be upset and not to worry about it. I left. Trust me, I understood the one product was much cheaper than a prescription for two products. She just couldn't comprehend that I wanted to use my card, which is NOT a flex medical card to pay for my prescriptions versus paying money out of pocket. The worst thing that would have happened was they declined payment and at that point, I would have purchased the doctor's products outright. It wasn't that hard.....geeeezzz

DR PATEL IS AN EXCELLENT DOCTOR . The disappointing review has nothing to do with his excellent service. This review is due to his Nurse Denise Todd RN. She called me regarding my father's medication. She had all the wrong information that identified him, she was calling over new medication. My father is already on 19 medications. I explained to her that I wanted to make sure she wasn't confusing my father with another patient because none of the information she was stating identified him. She brushed my concerns off and continue with her unprofessional tone. I never give reviews but this nurse's behavior was disgusting and lack common decency.
