My family member is at Abbot Heart Hospital in the 4000 unit.
The midnight shift left my brother laying in feces not just alittle the bed was covered.
The hospital must be short on fitted sheets as the bed no longer has a sheet on it, or is that so the care team don't have to go to all that work when the tube leaks.
His INR was at 5, LVAD people want him around 2 1/2 to 3. So in 4000 you get a warfarin. But just a small one I was told. If you don't know that is very bad!
Last night when I went back to check on my brother.
I called the station last night after I got home and asked them to have the nurse call me, I wanted to know what his respirations were and and what a container was at the head of the bed on the right side. The nurse called back, I asked her my questions, obviously my questions weren't relayed to the nurse what I wanted to know. The nurse didn't know and wouldn't look in his chart for the respirations. (My brother is on high flow oxygen, 45 liter.) As she never told me numbers. I asked what the container was at the head of his bed on the right side. She didn't know and put me on hold I believe to go and look. Came back on the phone and said what it was. She also said they put him on bypap at night. Never heard that before.
I have called the floor manager and expect better treatment for all patients.

My sister had a D&C procedure along with a mass removed from her stomach. After the surgery the morning nurse lifted up her blanket and asked if she was bleeding due to being on her period. After trying to explain she had a D&C the nurse left and got another nurse who tossed pads at her from across the room. I find it very concerning that the nurse had not even looked at the chart to see what his pt was on the post surgery floor for. She also was trying to be super nice and was yelled at by her nurse "DO YOU NEED ANYTHING ELSE" super slowish as if she was stupid. The last nurse she had who was an angel told her she had pain pills and nausea meds she could have had the whole time. They were never offered to her. She had a panic attack due to pain of a gas build up and they never offered it to her. Just indifferent to her. She is a very kind person and my heart is broken for her.

The lady who checked me in at the desk for the piper building were wonderful. Casual in a way that definitely eased some anxiety and honestly kind of funny. Same with the lady who after that, finished my registration and led me to the Surgery check in desk. Both 10/10. I wish I had their names.
I went in for a laparoscopic procedure. Jay & Victoria were the two nurses who helped me with everything right before the actually surgery. Both were absolutely wonderful. So so so helpful, kind, compassionate, relatable, and funny! I honestly could not have imagined getting better people to help me out!!! If they ever see this I truly hope they know how much they helped me, especially Jay. No one has ever been able to distract me enough to where I can overcome the anxiety I get around needles and IVs, he did. 10/10!!
There was one nurse, the one who was sent to actually bring me to the OR, her name was Mara I believe. She was very pushy and it felt really uncomfortable. I have a bunch of piercings and had replaced them all with plastic retainers. Prior to her coming I had met with my Anesthesiologist (Tanner I believe, very very very wonderful and attentive!!) and my Surgeon (Dr. Stephenie Meller 10/10 absolutely wonderful and attentive as well) who both looked me up and down and told me I did everything perfectly and that everything's prepped perfectly. Mara was very adamant that my lip piercing needed to come out. Very very adamant. When I didn't just do what she asked and asked questions on why, it felt like she got more frustrated by the second that I wasn't just doing what she wanted. She was heavily adding to the anxiety I was already dealing with regarding this being my first surgery ever and first time with general Anesthesia. I told her that I had talked to my Anesthesiologist and Surgeon and that they had both told me I was good. Piercings aren't cheap and sometimes can close quicker than you think. She just stared at me after I said that and then I asked if I could maybe talk to them again or if she could call. She kind of stomped out and must've called maybe 5 different people about this. The way she was talking about me to them and the situation was really almost rude. It felt like she didn't actually care about my health, just more like she was trying to do a power move. She came back in and said this long list of risks (It was a small secured squishy plastic stud in a labret piercing) and finally she said "it will most likely scrape your gums". I told her I have no problem with a few scrapes, again piercings are expensive. She kept asking me "do you accept the risks" so I just said yes. She stomped out and just called more people saying I was refusing to take it out. Finally, my anesthesiologist came in, very very patient and kind. He just looked at it and said that yeah it might scrape my gums a teeny tiny bit. I said that's no problem. He said cool and just mentioned he would put gauze there just in case to put a little barrier between my piercing and teeth/gums. He was so chill about it and wasn't worried in the slightest. After that she came back in and pretended like she didn't just do/say all of this. So so so uncomfortable. I don't know if it was retaliation, but while she was wheeling me to the OR, my boyfriend was behind us and kept asking her to stop so he could say goodbye to me and she just ignored him. I also wanted her to stop so I could too. I didn't get to see him again before going in. 0/10 experience from her, I actually cannot believe that type of behavior from a full grown adult in a career where professionalism, compassion, understanding, and kindness is almost always necessary and recommended. Like, I was so scared and wanted to see say goodbye to my boyfriend right before going in. Ridiculous.
I wish I got this one girls name, but once I woke up in recovery everything was great! She was also so nice and compassionate. She had really cool dark hair and I just had no issues trusting her with this.
Everyone was absolutely wonderful to work with, just except the one nurse.

I was there for bariatric surgery, I was nervous asl. When I got there my whole team, were ready bright eyed, and reassuring. Once i was under that was some of the best sleep ive had in years! But my team made sure I was coherent in recovery I dont remember their names, but I dont remember their voice, and faces. When I finally arrived to my floor I think it was shift change. The girl hovered me over because I was so sleepy, they were gentle and fast in skin check and making me comfortable. My nurse were great Diana cma, Kelli rn, and pahna. I do remember were all excellent. I was very drowsy, they made sure I was safe with transfers. My day shift changed Linda and my nurse chayla were excellent. Everyone on that floor took the best care of me. My cma who took me to my car she was very gentle, and kind and I appreciated the ride down! Thank you ladies for all you do! Your work is greatly appreciated.

I had 2 lumbar fusions here. An absolute travesty. Dr. Salib was new and I also had Dr. Lifson. When I woke up, the pain was intense! I couldn't move. It was then that Salib told me he "slipped with the drill and got into the nerve roots!" I wanted to die it hurt so bad. That was January. I could barely move. I was hospitalized in February for a week and had steroid injections that did nothing. In March, I had another surgery to try to fix it. This time, Salib alone did surgery, going through the front, pounding a bone plug in from the front, but positioning it to one side. It took a long time just to walk! In the present, that offset bone plug has caused scoliosis. I have had 2 more surgeries on my lumbar spine and one surgery on my neck. I will never go back here. Dr. Salib ruined my life.
