He is a very poor communicator, he did not follow up on my pain management, which was extreme due to a previous surgery for cancer. The nurses had dirty finger nails, and dismissed my pain as if I was being histrionic. The discharge nurse said Dr Latanich was too busy to speak with me and asked if it was really necessary. I don't recommend him. He maybe more considerate of men than women.

Dr. Latanich was persistent on measuring anesthesia during an ablation procedure for v-tach, which I am thankful for. Have had 3 unsuccessful catheter ablations performed at a different hospital 5 years prior, and they had fully sedated me for those procedures. This one was a more intense experience, as I remained more dazed than asleep, however was very successful. After about 3 months of healing and taking metoprolol I now feel very healthy. My skip rate is below .01% and I am very thankful for this. Dr. David Wilbur did an excellent job on the ablation and is very talented. In the time directly after the procedure, (1-24hrs) there was a complication with the nurse removing catheter from femoral artery; I do not believe the nurses behaved in a proper way, I will not go into detail. Suffice it to say I had blood in my b@lls and surrounding muscle due to improper placement of my pressure belt. Dr. Latanich was called in, he allowed some of my family to stay with me in the room which I appreciated greatly. He saw the situation and immediately recognized what was most likely wrong. He held pressure on the incision site himself, called for an ultrasound. The nurse brought in a very old/small one and dr. Latanich insisted on her getting a more modern and complex version. Finally they found and stopped the bleeding. In the 3 days of recovery from this dr. Latanich visited regularly and checked the condition of the healing as well as my vitals which I appreciated. In previous medical procedures I've had, I often find myself explaining my situation to different doctors each time one comes to the room. I'm thankful that either by Loyola's rules or Dr. Latanichs decision, I had the doctor that personally witness the procedure seeing me through recovery.
