Poor communication. Rude staff. Doctor came across arrogant and disrespectful. My father was made to wait 2+ months for an ablation and then was told by several doctors that waiting so long with a high heart rate could have caused further damage to his heart. The doctor changed his medication and when my father called with concerns and questions, it took the office over a week to get back with him, after rudely speaking with him in the first place. Finally, we switched doctors and afterwards Zahwe had the nerve to come to my dads hospital room and arrogantly tell him he's the best cardiac doctor in Michigan. I cannot in good faith recommend this doctor to anybody.

Dr. Zahwe was my moms doctor when she was in the ICU at Ascension Macomb (now Henry Ford) in Warren. He was very condescending. His bedside manner was awful, but his competence as a doctor was even worse. My mom had cardiac tamponade as well as broken heart syndrome. She had a surgery to fix the tamponade and was in the ICU after surgery. A few days later (still in the ICU) she started exhibiting signs of tamponade again but Dr. Zahwe kept blaming it on the broken heart syndrome and kept saying her heart had to heal every time we asked about her symptoms. He didn't even run an echo to rule out reoccurring tamponade. My mom ended up with reoccurring tamponade and died. She had a clot stuck between her heart and pericardium that was noted to be as big as an orange in the OR notes. He fluffed off our concerns and my mom paid the price. Do not use him as your doctor!

Dr. Zahwe was patient and kind, answered all my questions, and performed a successful, painless ablation on me three weeks ago. I would recommend him strongly to anyone needing help with newly diagnosed AFib. His manner is kind and understanding when, as a patient, you're nervous and scared.

Dr. Zahweh is thorough and very patient centered. He takes the time needed to assure the patient and family, and answers all and any questions. His staff is kind, patient, efficient and team oriented. Our family, without any doubt or reservation, trust him with our heart health.
