Dr Haines years ago changed my life. I had multiple procedures done in Petoskey, open heart included... and was told there was nothing more that could be done for me. I was 31 years old and miserable. After a referral to Dr Haines at Beaumont, he tested, and checked out everything. No stone was unturned. I was given a whole new life. Several years later I began having some different issues. I was blessed to have been able to get back in to see Dr Haines. He listened to me. He listened to my wife. He gave us options, along with his opinion. He respected our decision with one of his options, and performed. He performed flawlessly and I am functioning as a normal person again. I had afib that went undetected for many years and once diagnosed, I tried medication for another five years. In 2012, I received the catheter ablation from Dr. Haines as the medication was no longer effective. I felt wonderful after I healed and have never had an occurrence of afib again. Additionally, the statement Dr. Haines made at my post op visit stuck with me for years until I finally did something about it. He said "Smoking will kill you. Maybe not tomorrow, but it will kill you". I have never had a doctor be that blunt and the words repeated over and over in my head for years until I finally did something about it! Additionally, Michelle Mead-Salley, the Nurse Coordinator for Dr. Haines was absolutely outstanding.
