Dr. Michael B. Deyoung, DO

Very straightforward and honest. He won't sugarcoat things nor beat around the bush with a given situation. He also had a great sense of humor, which helps in serious situations.

Worst bedside manner ever. If you're looking for a compassionate caregiver, look elsewhere. Dr. DeYoung performed a procedure at the hospital on me and when I explained to him that I could not lie on my back without being in excruciating pain he ordered his medical assistant to give me 100mg of Fentanyl (imagine that amount) and then I saw him wink at the MA and then grin at him. Dr DeYoung is the least compassionate doctor I have ever known. I just hope that one day he'll be treated in kind.

Made my appointment a month in advance. On referral from another surgeon. Not only drove in sleet. But wasting my $4 gas only to be greeted my VERY RUDE receptionists. One didn't even acknowledge my standing there. Go to fill out all the paperwork and was then called up. And told whomever took my appointment information a month ago didn't give me proper information. And insurance not accepted .. which was the FIRST question I asked as not to waste my time. Rude , dirty office and receptionists. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Would give negative if I had the option.

My Grandmother is super sick. It's been 19 days and STILL waiting for results so she can get another test done. We called the medical assistant DONNA to try and get the results for my grandmother who cannot make the phone call because she's physically Ill and DONNA proceeded to go absolutely crazy on the phone then hang up and told us to call radiology ourselves. Completely unprofessional someone with better customer service skills needs to be answering the phone. ITS THEIR JOB.

My mother in law has been extremely I'll since April and needs a colonoscopy but needs approval by Dr. Deyoung first. He sent her for a stress test on June 2nd and as of today, June 21st she still has no results. My mother in law went in last Wednesday, June 15th for the results (yes, 2 weeks later) and he apologized saying the test was overlooked by radiology and he would call her later with the results. He also told her he wouldn't charge her for the visit. My mother in law is so Illshe could hardly walk into the office as it was. The following day my mother in law called radiology and they said they had just sent them over, Thursday, June 16th. NOBODY has called with the results yet. I just called "Donna" Dr. Deyoungs medical assistant to find out what was going on and she proceeded to yell at me telling me "it ain't my fault" and "Barbara can call radiology herself" also, "she need to speak to her dr". Well "Donna" she has done those things and shouldn't the dr who ordered the test, the cardiologist, the dr you literally put your life into their hands, be the one to get the results. I told "Donna" it seems as if nobody wants to help my mother in law and she's withering away to nothing. I told her I hope this call is recorded because I couldn't believe the way she was talking to me and she hung up on me. I spoke with another dr today who told me that since the older drs have retired at Mclaren the entire cardiology dept is a mess. He has patients that have switched hospitals all together because of how bad it is there. There's a paper trail for every bit of this. If something happens to my mother in law because of the negligence of Dr. Deyoung, who's responsibility is it? And Donna, if you're reading this, you're in the wrong profession. My mother in law will not be stepping foot in this office again and we will be telling everyone we possibly can this story. If you're looking for a cardiologist, please don't go to this office. If there was something wrong with my mother in laws heart, after 19 days, she could be dead. This is completely unexceptable.
