Recently my family member was admitted to St. Mary's under Dr. Kahleel for an acute stroke. He could not answer questions regarding the MRI that was done, instead printing me out a copy of the results and pointing to the impression so I could read it for myself. He told my family member he was ordering a test on his heart because he was concerned about an abnormality he seen, yet- it was not ordered. No cardiologist was on board, finally after speaking with several nurses it was ordered the following day. My family member who had just had a stroke so was confused and stressed about this- yet doctor could not be reached and no anxiety medicine or increased Benadryl could be given to calm him. After 15 hours of being without food or water Cath lab could finally preform test. Doctor was paged multiple times, no call back. On day of discharge told us that my family member would need to wear a holter monitor (for his heart) for one month, see neurologist in 3 weeks and start taking a cholesterol pill preventatively. My family members cholesterol tests were unremarkable- as a nurse myself I'd never seen such good results. When the nurse came in with discharge papers- holter monitor was not ordered, follow up with neurologist was not on the papers. I'm surprised that with all the stress my family had under gone from this incompetent physician that he didn't have another stroke there. Keep your family away from him and St. Mary's Hospital if you love them at all....Scary scary place to have to leave your loved one.
