Yasser Al-Khatib, MD

Dr. Al-Khatib has been seeing my son since just after birth 8 years ago when we had an emergent situation with his heart. He is the favorite of our care team at HDCH. He spends time talking to us and making sure our questions are answered. Today he spent extra time showing my son how the stethoscope works which is such a small but big detail for a child navigating heart disease. We are lucky to have such a great resource in our community.

We have been seeing Dr. Yasser Al-Khatib since our son was born 4 years ago, and his care has been phenomenal. We have full confidence in his knowledge and treatment. Our son also loves him as he's gentle, fun, and patient. He explains things clearly making it easy to understand. The staff and ECHO technicians have also been fabulous. We are so thankful for such high level care so close to home!

The staff was so kind and calm and helped my son to feel at ease. They made him laugh and let him help with things so he could feel like he had some control. I was very impressed.

My son's visit today was beyond exceptional! We arrived two hours early due to driving conditions and they managed to get him in basically right when we got there. It sounded like Dr. also agreed to meet with us early which was wonderful so we had lots of time to visit the Grand Rapids museum! DeVos is a wonderful, wonderful place. They think of everything and they are always prepared for just about anything. I am so grateful for the staff and all that they have done for my family.

Such a kind doctor. He listens to his patients and still goes the extra mile to make sure to not miss any details. Maybe I'm being bias because he reminded me so much of my grandpa who passed in 2020.
