Corewell Health Family Medicine - Caledonia

Dr Bassett is my primary physician. He, Rachel the RN, the Medical Assistants, and reception staff have been wonderful in the 1 1/2 years I've been a patient. Very impressed with the teamwork, responsiveness, communication, time spent answering questions, and helping understanding while I dance around insurance complexities. Very competent care, especially compared to other large medical groups similar to Corewell where I've been a patient. I never feel like a number. My mother, a senior in her 80s, recommended Dr Bassett and this office. She agrees they are great.

I have been bringing my son there since he was born last year. Almost 6 weeks ago I brought him in to be seen for an awful cough that was so bad he was choking at night and it was causing him to stop breathing while he was coughing bc he couldn't get air in. I voiced those concerns and they gave him antibiotics for his ear...which wasn't even a concern or a problem. His ears were fine. They sent us home and after I did everything they told me it wasn't getting any better. I asked for a nebulizer treatment which was refused by them because they didn't see it as necessary. I kept going in because it wasn't getting better and they told me to wait two more weeks. I finally took him to U of M emergency and he was diagnosed with pneumonia and if I would have waited the two weeks like Corewell Health said he would have had to been hospitalized on a breathing treatment. I am VERY upset that his sickness was not taken seriously. Even his new doctor said a chest X-ray should have been done weeks ago and all of this could have been avoided. I do NOT suggest going here. Especially if you're a first time mom because that's exactly how they will treat you. Like you don't know what you're talking about.

Won't go to this clinic again. Tried the walk-in on a Saturday. Thought ivd save some money vs a trip to Urgent Care. Big mistake. Front desk staff was courteous and personable. Rooming MA seemed like she wanted to be anywhere else. Spoke the minimum amount of words to do her job. The NP who saw me was more peppy, but also seemed inexplicably rushed - no other patients had been in the waiting room with me. She didn't perform exam techniques or ask the diagnostic questions that I would have expected - seemed very cursory of an exam. Received no patient instructions or additional information about condition with my discharge paperwork, something that has been SOP for ages now. Had to go to urgent care three days later become my condition, though it had improved, was beginning to detiorate again. Treatment at the Urgent Care was much more in line with my expectations. I'll go correctly there next time, and tell others to avoid the walk-in clinic here.

Dr Basset is awesome and I feel honestly listens to the patient

Dr. McCartney and team are wonderful! They take their time with you, explain what's needed to make you feel comfortable and knowledgeable of options. Highly recommend!
