On Sep 10, 2013 Dr. Schanzer corrected my father's aorta aneurism. He was 90 years old at the time. We were told to expect him to be in intensive care for at least three days after the procedure and to be released at least seven days after the procedure. The next day when we arrived to vist my father, he was fully clothed, sitting upright in a chair in his room waiting for his discharge papers. None of us believed he was going to be discharged. My father was hard of hearing and his English was not perfect and he was 90 years old. We all assumed he misunderstood. He was indeed released that day. Eleven years later and certainly the knowledge and experience has evolved to even better success rates. We are all very impressed and very thankful for Dr. Schanzer and his team.

Dr. Andres Schanzer at UMASS Memorial is Simply Umatched in his field as a Vascular Surgeon. I was referred to him in 2015 with an aneurysm at the base if my Spine. There was only a 50-50 chance of survival if repaired by standard operational procedures. Dr. Schanzer analyzed my dilema and assured me that he wouldn't let anything happen to me. It was so astoundingly successful it was published in the Worcester Gazette August 19, 2015 entitled ODDS Favor LIFE. Recently flew from Virginia to Massachusetts for repair, I ONLY TRUST Dr. Schanzer and his Amazing Team. He is my HERO

My father had surgery with him. We never met the surgeon, my father passed away from complications. I've had 9 heart surgeries myself, every single one the surgeon checked on me post op. You're better off going to Boston

He saved my life. He is the surgeon you need if you have a complex vascular issue. He gave me great comfort through two surgeries and continues to monitor yearly. His staff is caring and compassionate, all your questions are answered no matter how insignificant you think they might be.
