I don't typically do reviews, but on Saturday evening, I had to go to the ER, which was Harrington Hospital. I typically don't give a five star fully when doing a review. However, the moment I walked in there from check-in to triage to registration to the care of the doctor, and the nurses gave me was individualized and supportive. I have panic and anxiety going to emergency rooms. They took an individual approach. And walked me through an educated me through every result. I'm not quite sure everyone's name who worked on Saturday evening, but they all deserve a gold star five stars at that. It's important to treat a person like a person and that is just what was given to me and I had never been here or I should say hadn't been there in probably 20 years.

Twice now I have come out for an MRI follow-up, this second time I was actually late by almost 10 minutes, and despite being there, they said they weren't going to see me because of their strict policy of being within the 10-minute window of arrival, after fighting through traffic from Worcester to Southbridge taking me 50 minutes. Two weeks ago they canceled me saying I was 5 minutes late as a no-show for a 4:45 appointment at 4:47. The scheduler saw that and even said that it was pretty ridiculous, I was in the office at 448 talking to janitors that told me everyone went home for the day already. There were people in the back that they went and talked to, probably the people that were supposed to see me, saying that they would not. Nothing good to say about the original diagnosis dismissing my rotator cuff injury, and then getting an MRI only to prove that I do have one.. To the unprofessionalism that came after that also. Then they finally tell me that I could schedule in Worcester, where I am only 30 seconds away from the UMass campus where I work also on Plantation Street... Which I will be doing now.... Now.... Because that would have made things easier than I can even go on explaining, via common Sense... Which they should have used when they scheduled me coming from Worcester to Southbridge for these appointments that were very difficult to make in Rush hour traffic, and no sympathy for said travel difficulties.

Kind security staff. Pretty empty ER at the time. No communication or interaction from the staff otherwise even though there was plenty of people on the clock so just waited in confusion for like an hour in the waiting room. Other than that was pretty in and out and solved the problem. Edit: I recently had to go to the ER. I was treated almost instantly and was met with kind charismatic nurses and doctors even at 3 in the morning. I had my needs well taken care of and was very happy with the experience so I have raised my rating from 3 stars to 4.

I visited the ER at Harrington Hospital one evening after putting my children to bed. I was experiencing sudden, intense abdominal pain, nothing like I had ever felt before. The pain would spike from a 3 to a 12 on a 1-10 scale. I was also pregnant and feared it might be an ectopic pregnancy, which I knew could be life-threatening. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with disrespect and disbelief. The triage nurse laughed at me while I tried to explain what was happening. I was visibly struggling to walk, leaning on the walls for support. Instead of using her computer, she jotted my info on a sticky note. The entire experience felt unprofessional and dismissive. When I explained that my primary care provider was a remote physician and my gynecologist's office was closed until Monday, I was mocked again. The nurse repeatedly made sarcastic comments about having an "online doctor," showing no empathy for my pain or situation. I was eventually placed in a room where I sat for over three hours without anyone checking on me. When a doctor finally arrived, he asked the same questions repeatedly and was just as dismissive. The same nurse stood nearby, smirking. No pregnancy test was done, and I was told they didn't have the equipment to help me. After hours of being ignored and belittled, I was told I'd need to be transferred elsewhere. Feeling humiliated and unsupported, I left the hospital. My pain worsened over the weekend, but I was so traumatized by the treatment I received that I waited until my gynecologist's office opened on Monday. They took me in immediately and discovered I had internal bleeding from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. I was rushed to a different ER for emergency surgery. Later, after speaking to medical professionals, I was told it's possible the staff at Harrington thought I was drug-seeking, a dangerous and completely unfounded assumption. I was a pregnant mother in crisis, and their judgment and negligence could have cost me my life. I'm sharing this so no one else has to go through what I did. Harrington Hospital failed me when I needed help the most. I was left feeling mocked, humiliated, and completely alone during a medical emergency. No one should be treated this way while seeking care. To be fair, I had a good experiences at this hospital during the day with my son. But this particular staff; an older, heavyset woman with grayish hair (approximately 50+) and a tall, older male doctor with white hair, were working the evening shift and should not be in roles where empathy and urgent care are essential.
