John Shapiro

I just had my first appointment with Dr Shapiro! He was wonderful. He was so great to talk to. He listened and answered my questions. I had a thorough exam and if his follow up is as good as the visit he should be given 10 stars. What added to the experience was the check in and out process . Both women were incredibly professional. And then the on sight lab Definitely the best blood draw I've ever had!! Now I can only pray that he doesn't leave the practice ! Yes I found myself of a winner !! I forgot to mention that the office is large and clean and plenty of parking .

I would give ten stars if I could. Was having a hard day with my toddler as it is and the front desk was kind and absolutely wonderful! I wasn't waiting long before Dr. Shapiro came in. He listened to me, helped me and really seemed to care. My toddler was still giving me a hard time inside and Dr. Shapiro wasn't fazed by this at all, even taking the time out to try to blow up a glove to make her happy. It's really hard for me to go to a new doctor but I'm so happy I did. I couldn't have asked for a better visit. Highly recommend.

I had a new patient appointment with Dr. Shapiro last week and everything from check in to check out was great. Dr. Shapiro was calm and very personable, I felt he listened to my concerns and helped me get the care I needed. Thank you!!!

Probably the worst PCP I've ever come across. He is non responsive. He didn't even know I was there for a physical or know anything about my history. He didn't perform a physical at all. He would not read test results or get back to me with questions I had about my care. He even questioned my request for a referral to a specialized physical therapist. And after his nurse flippantly diagnosed me with a chronic inflammatory disorder with very little exam he never made a follow up. I had to request referrals to get to the bottom of my care on my own. I left immediately following his unacceptable care. I can't believe this is who replaces Dr. Piva.

Dr. Shapiro is the absolute worse PCP I have have dealt with in my life. The irony is, he replaced the best PCP I ever had, who unfortunately retired. I am a very optimistic and glass half full person, so this review should hopefully resonate with others who may be in search of a PCP. I will provide several reasons for my review. 1. Very unresponsive. If you need something with any urgency, forget it, he doesn't care no matter how much you call or complain. 2. Unprofessional. During a time I was trying to reach him after being ignored for several days. I finally spoke with him and he raised his voice at me and spoke to me in a way no professional has and hung the phone up on me. Let me be clear, I did not raise my voice at him or say anything to warrant him to hang up on me. 3. You have no say in your medical care. From the first appointment, without him knowing anything about me, he laid out plan for my health care and did not care what I thought or needed. He made referrals to several providers without my consent and I was cluess on what was going on during the process. I didn't even ask for a referral anywhere. Terrible communication. He is negative and thinks he knows it all. Example, I decided to read my notes from my chart and was blown away. He had me listed as obese. I have never been more insulted in my life. I am health fanatic who lifts weights 5 days a week, I run twice a week and compete in track meets in sprinting events, and not to mention I have single digit body fat. I am not trying to brag at all, just providing examples of his incompetence. I could go on. I am writing this review to save others from the experience I had to endure. He is truely un empathetic, know it all who talks down to his patients and makes you feel like you don't have a choice in your own medical care. This review is in no way sour grapes, but more of an obligation to provide an honest evaluation of my personal experience with Dr. Shapiro.
