Isabel and Julianna are amazing technicians in the blood lab --- last week I arrived close to the end of the day due to traffic... they brought me in even though they were closing up. They both treated me with gentleness and kindness. Professional, courteous and sweet --- for someone who stresses about blood work, they were angels.

Hey Nurse Ann.. Thanks for absolutely nothing. I hope someone gives you the same treatment that you just gave me over the telephone. I have a serious kidney stone issue that you don't seem to think is urgent. Thank you so much for going above and beyond for me. Another one bites the dust. I absolutely hate, hate, hate hospitals. Do any hospitals treat patients like normal human beings or does everyone get the "Junkie looking for a fix treatment??" Sad to say that it doesn't surprise me.

I disagree with one of the previous reviewers who said that the lab was not top notch. I have stage 5 kidney disease and are in and out of the hospital and going to countless medical appointments. Consequently I get my blood drawn 3-5 times a week. I always try to get my labs done at MGBH Danvers whenever possible because they are so professional and skilled. Many places I go it takes a nurse several attempts to take my blood. In the hospital I had 3 IVs simultaneously. I am what is known as a "tough stick". The nurses at the lab in Danvers have ALWAYS got me the first time or maybe once in a while the second. I can't emphasize enough how good at their job they are. In particular, on march 28 at 4:15 pm, I was overwhelmed by their kindness and professionalism. My arm was bruised and over stuck from the hospital. I had just come from dialysis which notoriously makes blood draw difficult. I also had orders from about 3 different doctors. One I needed for an appointment Tuesday. I expected to just get one set of orders done and come back for others. Not only did the person doing my bloodwork find a vein on the first attempt, she was kind enough to do all 3 sets of orders. One of her coworkers assisted and their teamwork was inspirational. Honestly maybe someone had a bad day when that other reviewer went. I just say that because I have a lot of data to go on, and I won't standby and accept that. The care I have gotten over years is extraordinary, far more professional than any other lab I've used, and the vibes in the lab are overwhelmingly positive. Every time I'm in there it's apparent they are superb at their job and also just kind people. They deserve to be recognized for the service and positivity they provide.

I wish you there was a minus star option. In November 2024, during a routine appointment with my primary care physician, I was referred to a dermatologist due to a persistent skin issue that was getting worse. My initial appointment was scheduled for September 7, 2025. However, I was met with frustration when I received a cancellation letter dated June 23, 2025. The letter indicated that the office was not prioritizing patients whose appointments were canceled and offered me a new date of May 26, 2026. This meant I faced an exasperating wait of 1.5 years to see a specialist. Such a situation is not only unacceptable but also deeply concerning, especially with no assurances that this new appointment wouldn't also be canceled. It could be 2 or 3 years before I would be seen at this rate. In a moment of sheer frustration, I lost my cool and swore--though not directed at the representative--just overwhelmed by the entire ordeal. Which she had the right to say something but she chose to escalate the frustration and instead of calming the situation. She told me to call advocacy and complain if I was unhappy - knowing that they won't do anything either (I called ... you leave a message - they will call you back shortly. Been hours. I won't hold my breath. If they do call I will update this review). While I recognize that the scarcity of available appointments isn't solely her fault, her complete absence of understanding only heightened my frustration. Although I was offered the option to check for earlier appointments in Boston, I declined. If this represents the level of care I should expect, especially for a trek into the city, I'd rather seek care with Alturis Health. My endocrinologist's practice in Boston exemplifies what patient care should be--supportive, friendly, and truly empathetic. It seems MGH could benefit from improving the training and attitude of their front-facing staff. Based on my experiences, MGH has a doctor's shortage (NO PCPs in Salem NH taking on new patients) which translates in lower level of care and having unfriendly and uncaring front facing staff makes it not worth it. If you have to wait -wait with a different practice.
