Stephen J. Hoenig, MD

My story about Dr. Stephen Hoenig. My parents were visiting me at my home in MA prior to heading back to their home in Maine. It was the middle of the night when my mother came into my bedroom to tell my father had was sick and she thought he needed to go to the hospital. I immediately got out of bed and drove my parents to Emerson hospital Emergency. My father was seen quickly and Dr. Hoenig was the doctor who was taking care of him. My father's abdominal aortic aneurysm had burst and the situation was very serious. My father was put into a medically induced coma as they continued to work on him. My family was at the hospital keeping a vigil on how my father was doing and to keep company with my mother. More Family came down from Maine to support my mother and also keep vigil. My mother was understandably very worried. A few days into this, my Mom and I were walking down the hospital hallway and we ran into Dr. Stephen Hoenig. This is what Dr. Hoenig said to my mother and me, where her husband of many decades, my father was dying nearby. And I quote his words exactly here: " Have you seen the size of his scrotum!, he's on so many fluids it's huge! You gotta see it!" This was an unconscionable thing to say to a family that was watching their loved one die. Which he did a few days later. He was 76. I have complained about this to Emerson Hospital before and have received a call from an administrator apologizing for Dr. Hoenig's behavior. Dr. Hoenig however still seems to be admired my people in this group. I think it is important that his callous behavior be known widely. If a physician talks about a patient in this way to the spouse and daughter of the patient, I can't imagine he cares about his patients at all. "

As the HCP for our elderly uncle I want to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. H and his staff. Their kindness and support assisted our uncle in alleviating his anxiety while undergoing 2 ablations. They protected his dignity and turned an uncomfortable process into one filled with laughter and singing. The car ride over he was grumpy and questioning the value of the procedure. The ride back he was smiling and filled with hope that the procedure may alleviate his long term issues. Thank you to the staff at the Vascular Care Group

Dr. Hoenig and his staff were very professional and friendly. My procedure was quick and was well taking care of.

Dr. Hoeing is a very real and direct professional that takes the time to get to know, understand, and work with you to the best of his ability. His nurse and radiology team are pleasant and exhibit the same courtesy. If I had a continued need for his his care I would most certainly keep working with this team. I also thank Ann for making the extra efforts she did to accomodate my experience expediently and demonstrate her capabilities to ensure the equipment is in optimal order for the team to perform their tasks.

I had a great experience at The Vascular Care Group in Concord, MA location. The entire staff went above and beyond, I felt welcome, appreciated and safe(Thank you Lori). I would like to send a huge thank you to Britney, Dr Hoenig's nurse, she is amazing.
