Randall Zusman, MD

I was connected with Dr. Randall Zussman after a 1 Month in patient 2024 Hospitalization with Non-Responding Hypertension after a very dedicated and caring Team of Cardiologists lead by Dr. Katherine Rich discovered why my Hypertension wasn't responding to any sort of medication regime. After 2 of the 4 week in patient stay, they discovered a Unusual Hormone imbalance. They addressed that, but also decided to Do Whats called a Renal Denervation. Now after Dr. Zussman Ordered a CPET to try and figure out why I have unrelenting dyspnea. If not for my own research dissecting the detailed Report, I wouldn't have discovered I have a form of Heart failure. The CPET test results came out end of May, It's 3 months later and not a peep from anyone in Cardiology. NOT any responses to my 3 MGH patient Gateway messages have gone totally ignored. the Entire Cardiology Team knows the severity of My condition, but yet, they're leaving me to die in severe Pain and discomfort not being able to breath when doing any sort of physical exersion including to get up to Pee. Way to Go Dr. Zussman and all of MGH Cardiology. The overall MGH Cardiology team was Hard to get in contact with before, now since all the Hospital wide Layoffs that Management stated in the News wouldn't effect Patient Care ??? I think all of MGH seems to care more about building its new Cancer treament center making it nearly impossible for serverely handicapped persons as myself and so many others can't even easily get through the front door.... but with this level of ignoring all patients....why bother ?

Waited 6 months for an appointment with Dr. Randall Zusman for my 90 year old Mom. Appointment went well. Dr Zusman was very kind, good listener, did bloodwork. A month later, after multiple follow up calls, no followup on the bloodwork or anything else. Disappointed and left hanging. Now what? Why bother seeing him if he doesn't follow thru?

Dr Zusman is a gracious, caring, knowledgeable and concerned physician. He makes you feel as if as if you were his only patient and goes beyond what would expect from the Chief of the Hypertension unit at MGH. On a Saturday night during covid I had an emergency and called the covering physician, the paramedic with me said you won't get a physician tonight. Dr Zusman answered and I was very surprised and explained that I did not expect to have him answer the phone. He replied he told the physicians he would answer the phones as they worked hard all week.He went further and said when you arrive at the emergency room have the physician call me. Just a personal, patient, caring physician.
